Makinde’s Presidential Posters Flood Strategic Locations In Kano

The 2027 presidential posters of the Oyo State Governor, Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, on Thursday, took over major strategic locations in the ancient city of Kano, the Nigerian Tribune reports.

It will be recalled that a group, Nigeria Youths Awareness Group Makinde 2027 (NYAG Makinde 2027), while addressing the press in Kano over the weekend, stated that, given the political permutations of the 2027 presidential election, only the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, can move Nigeria forward.

Hence, the need for all patriotic lovers of democracy to rally around him, irrespective of political affiliations, to secure the nomination.

On Thursday, the posters, tagged “To Move Nigeria Forward 2027”, featured a bold image of Governor Makinde.

The poster read: “His Excellency, Engr Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde for President, Federal Republic of Nigeria,” courtesy of the Nigeria Youths Awareness Group Makinde 2027 (NYAG Makinde).

President Bola Tinubu has received the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting marks the monarch’s first official audience with Tinubu since his coronation on April 12, 2025.

# BON hotel saga!

University Students, Corper, and Other Ladies Duped at BON Hotel, Ibadan

Twenty-five young ladies, including university students and a corps member, were deceived and robbed at BON Hotel, Ibadan. The victims were lured to the hotel with promises of a legitimate side hustle, only to have their valuables stolen.

According to one of the victims, Joy, the incident began when a man named Peter Richard approached her on campus. He claimed to have an event brand that needed ushers for a big event on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Joy initially declined but was persuaded to participate and invite her friends.

On the day of the event, Joy, her two friends, and other ladies met Peter Richard at BON Hotel. They were instructed to drop their bags and phones in the three rooms he had booked. After eating, Peter Richard disappeared, and the ladies discovered they had been locked out of their rooms. Their access cards didn’t work, and they raised an alarm.

The hotel management also claimed that Peter Richard deceived them, stating that the ₦500,000 transfer for the rooms and food was fake. Adding that their CCTV footage revealed that Peter Richard gave the ladies fake access cards and used another card to enter the rooms and steal their valuables.

The hotel management reported the incident to the Housing Police Station, Bodija, Ibadan.

The investigation is ongoing, and many questions remain unanswered….

Tragedy Strikes in Ibadan as Diesel Truck Loses Control, Catches Fire; Two Dead

Earlier this morning, around 5 am, I received distress calls from residents and road users in the New Garage area of Ibadan, reporting an incident involving a truck carrying diesel that had caught fire in front of Total Energies filling station.

I immediately contacted the Oyo State Fire Service, who responded promptly, assuring me that their team was en route to the scene.

According to eyewitnesses, the truck, which was transporting diesel, lost control while the driver attempted to manage the situation to avoid an accident. Unfortunately, the vehicle crashed into Total filling station and exploded.

Tragically, the driver and motor boy were trapped inside the truck and succumbed to their injuries before the arrival of the fire service. The spillage of fuel from the truck also destroyed nearby properties worth millions.
