A LIFE UNRAVELED.

EPISODE TWELVE (THE TURNING POINT).

After much deliberation about the dream's meaning, Charles and I decided to attend John's church service and seek him out. We wanted to share our story and see if he could offer any guidance. As fate would have it, John had already instructed one of the ushers to ask us to wait behind after the service. We were amazed by the coincidence!

When we met with John in his office, he apologized for not informing us beforehand. "There's been a longing in my spirit to pray for your son," he explained. Charles and I exchanged a knowing glance, and I replied, "But he's not with us. He's at home."

John's response was immediate. "No problem, I'll follow you to your house tonight." We were taken aback by his willingness to visit our home.

That evening, John came to our house and asked for a glass of water. He prayed over the water and instructed us to give it to Erioluwa to drink. Afterward, he laid his hands on our son and told us to let him sleep.

As the days passed, we waited anxiously for a sign of improvement. We prayed together, fasted, and sought guidance from John. I reflected on my past mistakes, seeking forgiveness and redemption.

One morning, Erioluwa woke up with a faint smile on his face. My heart skipped a beat as I saw a glimmer of recognition in his eyes. "Mum?" he whispered, his voice barely audible.

I felt tears of joy flow freely as I hugged my son tightly. Charles joined in, embracing us both. "Thank you, God!" we exclaimed in unison.

As the days went by, Erioluwa's condition improved gradually. He began to recognize his family members, respond to stimuli, and even take a few steps on his own. Our joy and gratitude grew with each small victory.

John visited us regularly, offering guidance and support. Charles and I grew closer, our bond strengthened by our shared struggles and triumphs.

The days turned into weeks, and our family's story became a testament to the power of faith, redemption, and the human spirit. As we looked back on our journey, we knew that we had been forever changed by the miracle that had brought us healing and restoration.

"Glory to God!" Charles exclaimed, his voice filled with emotion.

I nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of peace and gratitude wash over me. "Miracle no dey tire Jesus..." I sang, my heart overflowing with joy.

THE END!!!

EPISODE ELEVEN (A HAUNTING DREAM)

Charles's anger was palpable as he confronted me. "Why would you do such a thing, Tinuade? And now you're just telling me? Are you the reason behind all the stress I've been going through?" His words cut deep, and I felt like I was drowning in a sea of guilt.

I tried to explain, but Charles wouldn't let me. "Woman, what did you want exactly? You've brought shame and trouble to our family. I will never be part of this. You better know how to fix things." His words stung, and I felt tears welling up in my eyes.

As Charles continued to lament, I broke down, sobbing uncontrollably. "I did this because of us," I pleaded. "Your family was pressuring me, and I felt like I had no other choice. What could I have done? My dear, please don't be annoyed at me. I really need your support at this time."

Charles's response was icy. "My support? Support my foot. You better leave me alone, woman. I don't know what's going on in my mind right now. Just leave me alone." The argument ended abruptly, with Charles storming off to the couch, where he eventually fell asleep.

But his sleep was fitful, and he soon found himself in the midst of a vivid dream. In the dream, he saw John laying his hands on our son, Erioluwa, and praying for him. Charles felt like he was watching from afar, and he couldn't help but shout, "Yes, Lord, Yes Lord, Yes Lord."

The shout was so loud that it woke him up, and I rushed to his side, concerned. "What's happening, my dear?" I asked. Charles took a deep breath, still shaken by the dream. "I had a dream," he said, his voice trembling.

I pressed him for details. "A dream? So what's the dream all about?" Charles's eyes locked onto mine, filled with a mix of fear and hope. "In that dream, I saw John praying for our son." I felt a shiver run down my spine. "Really? What could this mean?" Charles's dream had left us both with more questions than answers, and I couldn't shake the feeling that our lives were about to take a dramatic turn.

EPISODE TEN (FACING THE PAST)

As fate would have it, our new home was in the same area where John and Mary lived. I couldn't believe it when I found out that John, my former suitor, was now a renowned pastor, leading a thriving church called Christ Ambassadors Mission.

After settling into our new life, Charles and I decided to attend John's church, unaware that he was the founder. As we walked into the church that Sunday, I was taken aback when I saw John standing at the podium. "Wow, this is John!" I whispered to Charles, who shared my surprise.

After the service, we waited patiently to see John and his wife. When we finally met with them in John's office, we exchanged warm pleasantries. As we chatted, I couldn't help but feel a pang of regret. I thought to myself, "I should have been the one to marry John. Look at what he has become now... I really pity myself."

As the welfare team of the church entertained us, I struggled to hold back tears. Mary noticed my distress and asked compassionately, "What's wrong, my friend?" That's when I opened up about our struggles with Erioluwa's mental disorder. Unbeknownst to me, I revealed the entire story, including my secret visit to the local herbalist.

Charles was shocked and hurt, asking why I had done such a thing without his consent. John and Mary listened intently, their expressions a mix of surprise and concern. John's response was calm and reassuring. "Hmm, it's fine. We'll pray about it."

And with that, John prayed with us, offering words of comfort and hope. As we left the church and returned home, I felt a sense of relief wash over me, knowing that I had finally shared my secret and was one step closer to finding healing and redemption. The weight of my guilt was slowly lifting, and I felt a glimmer of hope for our family's future.

EPISODE NINE (THE DEVIL'S BARGAIN)

Desperate for a solution to my infertility, I confided in Lola about my struggles to conceive. She led me to a local herbalist, who promised that I would bear a child if I followed her instructions. I agreed, and she gave me a concoction to mix with my bath water and another to lick every four hours for a month.

I did everything she said, but I didn't tell Charles about it. Two months later, I discovered I was pregnant, and our families were overjoyed. Nine months later, I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Erioluwa.

As Erioluwa grew up, Charles and I were filled with joy and gratitude. We thanked God for answering our prayers. However, when Erioluwa turned four, we began to notice some developmental delays. It became clear that he had a mental disorder.

I was consumed by guilt and confusion. The herbalist had warned me that I wouldn't be able to conceive again naturally, but she hadn't mentioned anything about the child having a mental disorder. As the truth began to sink in, I felt overwhelmed by shame and regret.

The other parents in our community started to keep their children away from Erioluwa, and I couldn't blame them. Years passed, and Erioluwa turned ten, still struggling with his condition. I knew I had to confront the herbalist, so I went back to her, hoping she could offer some solution.

But she was unmoved, telling me that this was the price I had to pay. "Nothing gotten from the devil lasts long," she said, her words piercing my heart. "He will never give you something without demanding more from you."

The shame and guilt became too much to bear, and Charles and I decided to relocate to a new city, the capital of our state. As we settled into our new life, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for Erioluwa and our family. The weight of my decision hung over me like a cloud, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I had made a terrible mistake.

EPISODE EIGHT (INCREASING PRESSURE)

The day of our wedding finally arrived, and Charles and I exchanged our vows in a beautiful, intimate ceremony surrounded by our closest family and friends. We had decided to keep the wedding low-key, with only a handful of guests in attendance. Despite the simplicity of the ceremony, our love for each other shone through, and we were both grateful to have found each other.

As we settled into married life, news of John and Mary's relationship spread quickly. John's parents, especially his mother, were ecstatic and began pressuring them to start planning their wedding. They would often visit John, asking him when they could expect a grandchild. John would reassure them that he and Mary were taking things slow, but his parents were impatient.

Meanwhile, Charles and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary, but our joy was tempered by the fact that we still didn't have a child. Despite our best efforts, I hadn't become pregnant, and Charles's family was growing increasingly frustrated. They would often ask us when they could expect a grandchild, and Charles would try to reassure them that we were working on it.

The pressure was mounting, and I could feel the weight of their expectations bearing down on us. Charles's family was particularly eager for us to start a family, and their frequent visits only added to the stress. Charles would try to reassure them that we were both medically okay, according to the doctor, but this didn't seem to alleviate their concerns.

Feeling overwhelmed and isolated, I decided to reach out to an old friend who lived in our area. Her name was Lola, and we had been friends since childhood. I hoped that talking to someone who knew me well would help me process my emotions and find a way forward. I picked up my phone and dialed Lola's number, hoping that she would be available to meet up and talk. Little did I know, our conversation would lead to a revelation that would change everything.

EPISODE SEVEN (A BIRTHDAY SUPRISE)

With our National Youth Service Corps (N.Y.S.C) programme behind us, Charles and I were now free to focus on our wedding preparations. Our introduction had taken place during our service year, and a wedding date had been set. As the big day drew near, everyone was buzzing with excitement, including my friends Mary and Ifeoluwa.

However, Mary had been keeping a secret from us. John had proposed to her, and she had been praying about it, seeking God's guidance. She hadn't shared the news with anyone, not even me, her closest friend.

August 8th marked John's birthday, and Mary decided to surprise him in a special way. Despite not having given him an answer yet, she wanted to make his day memorable. She visited his family home, bearing a gift, and was greeted by John's mother.

After exchanging pleasantries and taking part in some playful birthday antics, Mary pulled John aside, her expression serious. "There's something special I want to tell you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. John's mind began to wander, his thoughts racing with possibilities.

Then, in a moment that would change everything, Mary spoke the words that would bring joy to John's heart: "I will marry you." John's reaction was instantaneous. He exclaimed, "I said I will marry you!" his voice filled with emotion. Overcome with gratitude, he shouted, "Glory to God!"

Mary's decision had made John's birthday unforgettable. With hearts full of joy, John decided to take Mary out to celebrate his special day, basking in the happiness that their newfound commitment had brought. As they stepped out, hand in hand, John knew that this was just the beginning of their journey together.

EPISODE SIX (LOVE'S SECOND CHANCE)

Charles and I had just completed our final semester examinations, and we were thrilled to have emerged with excellent grades. As we embarked on our National Youth Service Corps (N.Y.S.C) programme, we were excited to start this new chapter of our lives.

Although we weren't serving in the same state, we were both eager to plan our wedding during this time. Charles's father's status and connections had already secured him a job, which gave me a sense of security and stability for our future together.

Meanwhile, John had completed his service and was working at a prestigious firm, earning a handsome salary. However, John's parents were pressuring him to get married, which was causing him some distress. He didn't want to rush into marriage with just anyone, but his parents' persistence was taking a toll on him.

One day, John mustered up the courage to visit Mary, my dear friend, with a surprising proposal. As he stood outside her door, he felt a mix of emotions, unsure of how she would react.

Mary welcomed him warmly, and they exchanged pleasantries. John took a deep breath and began to express his feelings, trusting God to guide his words. "Sister Mary, I've come to realize that I have feelings for you, and I believe you would be the perfect partner for me in fulfilling God's purpose for my life. I want you to be my wife."

Mary looked taken aback, but she composed herself quickly. "Wow, really? Hmm, it's fine, brother John. But I'd like to take some time to pray and think about it." John nodded understandingly, willing to wait for her response.

As John left Mary's place, he felt a sense of hope and anticipation. He had taken a risk by expressing his feelings, but he knew that he had to be honest with himself and with Mary. Now, all he could do was wait and trust that God would guide Mary's decision.
