Ghana is set to have Africa's biggest gold mine.

Gold Fields and AngloGold Ashanti are merging their neighboring gold mines in Tarkwa and Iduapriem.

It will produce an average of 900,000 ounces yearly in the first 5 years.

It will be one of the world's biggest gold mines.

Tarkwa Gold Mine sits on 20,800 hectares, while Iduapriem Gold
Mine covers 13,700 hectares.

Armed Robbers Attack Comedian Woli Agba's
Home

The home of Nigerian comedian and content creator, Ayo Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, has been invaded by armed robbers
in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Ajewole, who made this known on his Instagram page on Thursday, thanked God that he and his family were safe and were not
physically hurt.

He didn't disclose if valuables were carted away or not.

Woli Agba posted, "Armed robbers invaded my house. God kept me and my family. Life wasn't taken. I am grateful to God."

He added, "And this is my testimony. I was not taken away suddenly. 🙏🙏🙏Help me praise God! Give God praise on my behalf my people. ❤️❤️❤️🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

An Egyptian referee, Mohamed Farouk, has been suspended indefinitely by the country's FA, after allegedly disallowing a goal after looking at footage on a spectator's phone.

Mohamed Farouk took charge of an Egyptian Second Division clash between Al-Nasr and Suez on Friday and in the absence of VAR,
relied on an alternative system to get a second look at a late goal.

With the hosts Suez 2-1 up heading into the final few minutes, Al-Nasr scored a dramatic equaliser to earn a point on the road.

However, after vociferous protests from home supporters, Farouk was invited to use a fan's phone to watch a replay of the goal before ruling it out for handball to deny the visitors an away point at Suez on Friday.

Dailymail reports that as a result of his actions, Farouk has come in for hefty punishment, with the head of the Egyptian Referees Committee, Vitor Pereira, deciding to suspend the referee and his entire matchday staff for 'an indefinite period'.

Pereira replaced former veteran Premier League official Mark Clattenburg in the role with the ERC earlier in March.

Pereira's action was confirmed by the Egyptian FA, who added, "The committee decided to investigate the incident when Mohamed Farouk, the referee of the match, used a mobile phone to review the review of the match's events”

PDP's Peter Mbah declared winner of Enugu
guber election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Mbah as the winner of the March 18 governorship election in Enugu State.

According to the results announced by the Returning Officer, Prof Maduebibisi Ofo-Iwe, who is the Vice Chancellor of the Michael
Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Mbah polled 160,895 votes to defeat his closest rival, Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour
Party (LP) who scored 157,552 while Uche Nnaji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 14,575 votes.

As it stands, the results of 26 of the 28 governorship elections have been announced. APC won in 15 states, PDP in nine, LP in one
while the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) won Kano. The elections in Kebbi and Adamawa were declared inconclusive.

the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Wednesday, urged Muslims to show kindness and love for humanity as this captures the essence of the season.

He also warned grocery sellers to refrain from exploiting other muslims by charging exorbitant prices for food items.

Buhari made the appeal in his yearly Ramadan message to Nigerian muslims at home and in the diaspora titled 'President Buhari wishes

This is contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, late Wednesday.

In a goodwill message, Buhari said, "Let us use this opportunity to put the best teachings of Islam into practice, such as kindness and

Kylan Mbappe will take over as captain of France after Hugo Loris stepped down following the World Cup final defeat to Argentina, a source close to the team has told AFP.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Mbappe, 24, accepted the role after discussions with coach Didier Deschamps.

His first game as captain will be Friday's Euro 2024 qualifier against the Netherlands at the Stade de France, Les Bleus' first match since their World Cup final disappointment in Doha on December 18.

Tottenham goalkeeper Loris, 36, brought an end to his international career in January, in the weeks after Lionel Messi's Argentina side beat the French in a penalty shootout following a
thrilling match that ended 3-3 in extra-time.

Loris had been skipper for more than a decade.

Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann was named vice-captain after Manchester United centre-back Raphael Varane also
hung up his boots following the defeat to Argentina in December.

Mbappe, who scored a hat-trick in the World Cup final defeat, had been heavily linked with the captain's role for weeks.

Michel Platini, who captained France to victory in the 1984 European Championship, said the decision was "a very good idea"
