FGN Launches YouthCred Loan Scheme for Youths and Young Entrepreneurs

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially launched YouthCred, a groundbreaking loan scheme aimed at providing easy access to credit for Nigerian youths, including NYSC members, young professionals, and budding entrepreneurs.

The initiative, powered by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CrediCorp), is designed to eliminate traditional barriers such as collateral requirements and long credit histories, which have often hindered young Nigerians from securing financial support.

In a statement released on Tuesday, CrediCorp emphasized that the goal of YouthCred is to empower the next generation by promoting a culture of responsible credit use and financial growth.

Loan Categories under YouthCred Include:

Corper Credit – A short-term loan targeted at National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to support their welfare and professional development during service year.

YouthCred Card – A flexible credit facility for young professionals with a 12-month repayment plan, ideal for personal or career-related needs.

Youth Entrepreneurs Credit – A business support credit line specifically designed to help young entrepreneurs start or scale up their businesses.
