President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, held a closed-door meeting with the 14th Emir of Kano and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, at the State House.

Sanusi’s visit, which is the first since the President assumed office, comes barely one week after the President suspended Godwin Emefiele as the CBN Governor.

The agenda of the meeting is unclear as of press time.

TINUBU SIGNS STUDENTS’ LOANS BILL INTO LAW

President Bola Tinubu has signed the Students’ Loan Bill into law, in fulfillment of one of his promises to liberalise funding of education in the country.

This was made known to newsmen on Monday evening by a member of the Presidential Strategic Team, Mr. Dele Alake.

According to him, the new law is a fulfillment of one of the electoral promises of President Tinubu.

Asked if the new law will not result in increase in school fees, Alake said both situations are unrelated, adding that the idea behind the law is to help indigent students to be able to obtain education in the country.
