NO MORE MINISTRY OF LAND, NO MORE SURVEYOR-GENERAL: GOV. SEYI MAKINDE CREATES NEW AUTHORITY FOR CIRCULAR ROAD CORRIDOR

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has announced the establishment of the New Towns and Cities Development Authority, which will now serve as the single point of responsibility for all matters relating to the Ibadan Circular Road corridor.

The Governor explained that the new authority will take over roles previously handled by the Ministry of Lands and the Office of the Surveyor-General, ensuring clearer coordination, faster decision-making, and improved accountability.

Governor Makinde also revealed that a committee is being set up to review all issues around the project and to ensure fair and transparent settlement for all parties involved — including affected property owners, investors, and host communities.

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has announced the reduction of the Ibadan Circular Road corridor from 500 meters to 150 meters in built-up areas.

The Governor disclosed this earlier today during his visit to the Ologuneru community, where he met with affected residents to address concerns about demolition markings and property setbacks.

Governor Makinde assured the people that no property beyond 150 meters on either side of the road will be touched, adding that the adjustment was made to protect densely populated communities while ensuring the project continues without causing unnecessary hardship.
