DAY 10 — ONLINE FINANCIAL ABUSE

Online financial abuse is becoming one of the fastest growing forms of digital violence targeting women and girls.
From impersonation scams to coerced money transfers and fraud built on digital manipulation, the threat landscape is evolving at scale.

Today we spotlight this often-overlooked danger.
Women deserve digital spaces where their safety, data and financial independence are protected without fear, coercion or exploitation.

Key red flags include:
• Sudden requests for money or urgent financial favours
• Unauthorised access to your accounts or devices
• Manipulation rooted in fear, shame or emotional pressure
• Online partners demanding passwords or banking information

Here’s the playbook for staying protected:
• Enable multi-factor authentication
• Never share login details or OTP codes
• Verify identities beyond online profiles
• Report suspicious activity immediately
• Offer support to women experiencing financial manipulation

Financial autonomy is a core pillar of safety.
Digital abuse must never be allowed to strip women of control, confidence or dignity.

Savingcross Justicepoint Foundation stands with every woman and girl — online and offline.

DAY 9 — Safe Dating in the Digital Age

The digital world has changed the way young people meet, talk, flirt and build connections. While online spaces offer convenience and community, they also come with risks that everyone must understand to stay safe.

Today, we’re diving deep into three major areas of online safety that every young person should know whether you’re chatting, dating or simply connecting with new people online.

1.Online Predators — Spotting the Red Flags

Online predators often appear friendly, supportive or “understanding” at first. They use emotional connection to build trust.
Common warning signs include:

Someone pushing you to keep conversations secret

Asking for private photos, videos or personal details

A stranger who becomes “too close” too quickly

Trying to isolate you from friends or family

Refusing to video call or verify their identity

Your safety comes first.
You do not owe anyone your time, pictures or personal information.

2.Sextortion — What It Is and How It Happens

Sextortion is a form of online blackmail where someone threatens to release your private images or messages unless you meet their demands.

It can start with:

A request for explicit photos

Hacked or stolen pictures

Screenshots taken without consent

Fake romantic or friendship accounts pretending to be real people

If it happens:

Do not pay

Do not comply

Save the evidence

Seek help immediately from trusted adults or support organizations

You are not alone, and it is never your fault.

3.Digital Consent — It Matters Online Too

Consent is not only physical — it is digital.

Digital consent means:

You decide what you share, when and with whom

No one has the right to pressure you into sending private photos

Your images, messages and information should never be forwarded to others without your clear permission

"No" is a full sentence — online and offline

Healthy digital relationships respect boundaries.

Let’s build a culture of safer digital relationships.

Knowledge protects.

Boundaries empower.

And you deserve safe connections — online and offline.

DAY 8: DIGITAL CONSENT– Your Boundaries Matter Online

Today we shine the spotlight on Digital Consent, an often overlooked pillar of online safety.
In the same way that consent is non-negotiable offline, every picture, message, voice note and personal detail deserves the same level of respect online.

Too many girls and women face harassment because their images or private information are shared without permission. This is not “content”. It is a violation.

At Savingcross Justicepoint Foundation, we are championing a culture where:
🔹 Consent is always requested
🔹 Boundaries are always respected
🔹 And digital interactions are guided by dignity, empathy and accountability

Join the movement.
Say NO to forwarding, saving or sharing anyone’s personal content without explicit consent.
Say YES to creating safer online spaces for women and girls.

DAY 7 | 16 Days of Activism

DEEPFAKE ABUSE IS NOT A JOKE. IT IS DIGITAL VIOLENCE.

Every day, women and girls around the world face a new kind of digital attack: their faces being edited onto explicit videos, fake audio messages created to embarrass them and manipulated images used to threaten or shame them. This is not “technology playing games”. This is violence.

Deepfake abuse destroys reputations, triggers fear and exposes victims to harassment and blackmail. One edited clip can ruin a life.

Signs of Deepfake Abuse
• Edited videos or images circulating that you never created
• Your face placed on someone else's body
• Fake audio messages pretending to be your voice
• Unusual tags or mentions directing you to suspicious content

How to Protect Yourself
• Report deepfake content on all platforms immediately
• Tell someone you trust because silence protects perpetrators
• Save all evidence securely
• Avoid downloading unverified apps that access your camera or photos
• Strengthen your privacy and device security

Our message is simple:
🔶 Technology must NEVER be used as a weapon against women and girls.
🔶 Deepfake abuse is a crime.
🔶 Survivors deserve protection not shame.

Join us as we raise our voices this season.
Digital violence is still violence.
Protect your image. Protect your voice. Protect your dignity.

DAY 5:
ONLINE SEXUAL HARASSMENT — It is Violence, Not Flirting

Every day, girls and young women are spammed with unwanted messages, explicit photos, sexual jokes and pressure disguised as “play.”

Let’s call it what it is: online sexual harassment and it is a form of gender-based violence.

Today we are amplifying the message: No one has the right to sexualise, pressure or intimidate you online.

How it happens

• Unsolicited n**e photos
• Sexual comments on posts or DMs
• Manipulation or blackmail for pictures
• “It was just a joke” harassment
• Someone older pursuing a minor online

How to protect yourself

• Block and report instantly
• Do not respond or apologise
• Save screenshots as evidence
• Update your privacy settings
• Tell a trusted adult or authority

Our call to action

📢 Digital violence is still violence.
📢 Respect boundaries online.
📢 Speak up. Support survivors. Hold perpetrators accountable.

Join us as we continue the 16 Days of Activism to end digital violence against all women and girls.

DAY 4: DOXXING — When Personal Information Becomes a Weapon

Doxxing is when someone digs up and publishes your private information online to embarrass, threaten or intimidate you. It could be your phone number, home address, school details or even your family’s information. One wrong click and your safety is compromised.

In today’s digital landscape, safeguarding your data is not optional. It is a non-negotiable risk-management strategy.

🔍 Red flags
• Someone asking for personal details they do not need
• Fake accounts trying to obtain information from you
• Threats that mention your address, school or family
• Sudden exposure of private information online

🛡️ How to protect yourself
• Lock down your privacy settings
• Avoid sharing where you live, study or work
• Use strong passwords and two-factor authentication
• Report threats immediately
• Screenshot everything for evidence

As we move through the 16 Days of Activism, remember this truth: Digital violence is still violence. Protect your space. Guard your data. Speak up early.

Savingcross Justicepoint Foundation remains committed to helping every girl, every boy, every woman, every man and every community stay safe both online and offline.

DAY 3: CYBERSTALKING :— KNOW THE SIGNS, PROTECT YOUR SPACE

Cyberstalking is one of the fastest growing forms of digital violence. It hides behind screens but carries real emotional, psychological and sometimes physical consequences.

Today, we draw a line in the sand and call it what it is: a violation, a threat and an unacceptable abuse of power.

At Savingcross Justicepoint Foundation, we are championing safer digital spaces for all women and girls. Cyberstalking thrives when people are unaware, silent or unsure of what to do. Not on our watch.

Here is what to look out for:
• Persistent and unwanted messages
• Online surveillance or monitoring
• Threatening or intimidating communication
• Fake accounts created to track, impersonate or harass
• Sudden appearances across your online platforms

If you experience it:
• Do not engage
• Keep screenshots and records
• Block the offender
• Report to relevant authorities
• Seek support, always know that you are not alone

Digital safety is a right, not a privilege. Let’s stand together and dismantle every form of violence, whether online or offline.

DAY 2: SPOT THE DIGITAL RED FLAGS

Theme: Identifying Online Threats Against Women and Girls

Today on Day 2 of the 16 Days of Activism, we are calling attention to the subtle and not so subtle warning signs of digital violence.

Online threats often start quietly but escalate quickly if left unchecked.

From unsolicited messages to fake profiles, tracking apps, impersonation and hidden monitoring, digital red flags are everywhere. And when women and girls do not recognise these early signals, they become more vulnerable to cyberstalking, harassment and image-based abuse.

At Savingcross Justicepoint Foundation, we are championing a proactive approach. Digital safety is not optional; it is a strategic non-negotiable.

💡 Key Red Flags to Watch Out For:

• Someone demanding your passwords or access to your device.

• Sudden monitoring of your online activities.

• Receiving threats, degrading messages or blackmail.

• Fake accounts pretending to be you or someone you know.

• Being pressured to share private photos.

• Unauthorised posting of your images or personal information

🎯 Today’s Call to Action:
Take five minutes to review your privacy settings, block suspicious accounts, report harassment and encourage the women and girls in your circle to do the same. Safety starts with awareness.

Together, we can dismantle digital violence — one informed user at a time.
