The only way to become a better speaker is to speak.
Confidence is not built in silence. It is not built in comfort. It is built in the moment you raise your hand anyway; even when your heart is racing, even when you're not sure you're ready, even when the embarrassment feels like it might swallow you whole.
Because after you find the courage to speak once, something shifts. You become a little braver... and braver again.
At our last Speaker's Circle Community meetup, I said exactly this. Take every opportunity. Face the fear. Raise your hand. Ask the question. Accept the invitation.
And then two of our members went and did exactly that.
One accepted a speaking invitation she had been sitting on. Her words?
"I am excited about it and scared at the same time, but since we've been encouraged not to turn down opportunities to speak publicly, I decided to accept."
Excited AND scared. That is the exact place where growth lives.
Another got accepted as a facilitator for a Global Health Fellowship; something she had never done before. Instead of shrinking from it, she got to work. Study notes. Preparation. Intention.
Her words? "I am running with this."
This is what Speaker's Circle exists for. Not just to teach people how to speak, but to create a community that holds you accountable to your own courage.
Your next level is waiting on the other side of the thing you keep talking yourself out of.
Raise your hand.
