Tomorrow, Friday, 14th August 2026, I will be joining the Muslim community at Bwiikya Mosque for Juma Prayer and Thanksgiving, hosted by the Office of the District Kadhi under the Bunyoro Muslim District Council (BMDC).
I am looking forward to this gathering because moments of prayer and thanksgiving give us an opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life, reflect on how far Allah has brought us, appreciate His blessings and seek His continued guidance, protection and wisdom for the days ahead.
The Qur’an reminds us: “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you.” — Qur’an 14:7. This powerful reminder speaks directly to the spirit of tomorrow’s gathering. Gratitude is not only about celebrating what we have received; it is also about recognising Allah’s goodness, remaining humble and remembering that every blessing comes with a responsibility to use it for the good of others.
I warmly invite the Muslim community, religious and community leaders, friends and the entire general public to join us at Bwiikya Mosque. Come not simply as a guest, but as part of a community coming together in prayer, thanksgiving and fellowship.
For me, tomorrow will also be an opportunity to meet and interact with our people, listen to their views, share in a moment of prayer and reflection, and strengthen the bonds that unite us. Faith has an important place in our communities, and gatherings such as this remind us of the values of peace, compassion, unity, respect and service to one another.
As we come together, let us pray for continued peace and stability, wisdom for our leaders, guidance for our families, prosperity for our communities and blessings for our country. Let us also remember that despite our different backgrounds and responsibilities, we are strongest when we stand together and support one another.
I therefore look forward to being with you tomorrow at Bwiikya Mosque. Let us come together, pray together, give thanks together and continue building stronger bonds among our people.
