Five Facts You Should Know About Wole Soyinka’s Late Brother, Femi

Professor Femi, the younger brother of Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, has died at the age of 85.

Below are five facts you should know about the late professor:

1. Professor Soyinka received a degree in Medicine and Surgery MBChB from the University of Heidelberg, Germany in 1964 and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the same university in 1965.

2. He specialised and practised as a Dermatologist, Venereologist and Allergologist at the University of Giessen, in 1969.

3. In Nigeria, Professor Soyinka spent decades in academia, holding various positions from Chief Medical Director to Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Provost of the College of Health Sciences of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.

4. Professor Soyinka championed the cause of People Living With HIV/AIDS in Nigeria with the initiation of the Ambassador of Hope programme in Nigeria, creating public awareness of the disease. He was a past president of Society for AIDS in Africa.

5. Professor Soyinka died at his home in Kukumada Village, Ibadan, Oyo State.

I just watched a video of a woman who said she was employed in a school to teach. The school insisted that teachers cannot come to school with infants because they will distract the teacher from work, they however agreed for her to drop the child at the school’s crèche and the fee deducted from her salary which she agreed.

She said she had gone to drop her baby at the creche, stepped out of the crèche to see the proprietor and by the time she returned 15 minutes later, all the children were deeply asleep, all of them at the same time. The ones yet to fall asleep were looking like zombies.

These are kids she left 15 minutes ago, they were all active and playing. We all know how it is trying to get todlers to sleep, and these teachers claimed the children just coincidentally fell asleep at THE SAME TIME.

She got suspicious and started questioning them, raising her voice. Yet none of these kids woke up at the sound of her voice.

Apparently, they were giving these children medicine to sleep! What level of e vil is that? How can you keep dřųggįng people’s children left under your care?

Please be mindful of the schools you enroll your kids. Observe your children whenever they return from school, do not ignore any thing that feels off.🤦🏻‍♀️

Dennis Anthony, a 400-level Mass Communication student at Kaduna State University, was punished when his lecturer discovered he had used Artificial Intelligence for his assignment. Although Anthony admitted that he relied on the AI to beat the deadline, the lecturer easily detected it because “AI speaks a different English” from the way students would normally write.

Oh wow this is coming from a whole governor of Ekiti state! I hope the man is doing well by paying workers salaries as at when due, building infrastructures (roads) and other vital project so as to boost the development and economy growth of the state. If he is not doing any of the listed above, then the people working with him are right by not defending his government on social media because they know their principal isn't doing well at all.. I think the governor doesn't need all these outcry. His achievements should speak for him.

According to Channels TV, the resignation is contained in a letter dated August 24, 2025, and titled “Resignation as the Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly.”
