What Are the Signs of Newcastle Disease? 🐔⚠️
One sick bird can quickly put your entire flock at risk. That's why spotting Newcastle disease early is so important.
Watch out for these warning signs:
✅ Sudden death without any obvious cause
✅ Sneezing, coughing, or gasping for air
✅ Greenish diarrhea
✅ Twisted neck or difficulty walking
✅ Drooping wings and paralysis
✅ Loss of appetite and weakness

As someone who runs a poultry farm with over 2,000 birds, one of my biggest challenges used to be the cost of powering the farm. We spent a lot of money on petrol to run generators for pumping water and providing light, especially at night.

How Long Does It Take Broilers to Reach Market Weight?

One of the most common questions new poultry farmers ask Me, "How long will it take before my broilers are ready for sale?"
The truth is , the answer depends on factors such as breed, feeding, management, and environmental conditions.
Under good management practices, most broiler chickens reach market weight between 6 and 8 weeks of age. By this time, they typically weigh between 2kg and 3kg, which is the preferred weight range for many consumers and poultry markets.

Fast-growing commercial breeds can attain 2kg live weight in as little as 35–42 days when provided with quality feed, clean water, proper vaccination, and a healthy environment. However, poor nutrition, disease outbreaks, overcrowding, or extreme weather conditions can slow down growth and delay market readiness.

To achieve the best results, you should focus on:
