This morning, I presented the Oyo State 2026 Appropriation Bill tagged Budget of Economic Expansion to the House of Assembly. Our goal for this budget is to build on the gains from the 2025 Budget of Economic Stabilisation to further grow the Oyo State economy. The total budget sum is ₦891,985,074,480.79.

With this budget we are closer than ever to the ideal 60/40 ratio between capital and recurrent expenditure. An Oyo Guber aspirant has allegedly sold 5 trailers of rice worth over ₦200 million, meant for Oyo State, and instead donated ₦12 million Yesterday to MediaTeam For Cover up.

A shocking controversy has emerged involving a gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, Nigeria. According to reports, the aspirant allegedly received 5 trailers of bags of rice from Mr President . The rice was reportedly intended for distribution among the people of Oyo State to help mitigate the impact of food inflation.

Instead of distributing the rice as intended, allegations claim that the aspirant sold the entire shipment. Following this, the aspirant reportedly invited a few individuals, referred to as "Media team," to his house yesterday. The leftover rice was cooked for these individuals, and they were given ₦12 million, which is alleged to be little of the proceeds from the sale of the rice.

This alleged behavior has raised significant concerns among the people of Oyo State. The intention behind Mr President's donation of rice was reportedly to alleviate the struggles of the people facing food inflation. By allegedly selling the rice instead of distributing it, the aspirant's actions have undermined this goal.

The people of Oyo State will likely be affected by such actions.Nigeria has been experiencing challenges related to food inflation, affecting many citizens' ability to afford basic necessities. In this context, the distribution of food items like rice to alleviate hardship is a significant gesture. The alleged actions of the gubernatorial aspirant, if true, would be seen as contrary to the interests of the people they aim to serve. The authority has been informed and investigation is ongoing.
