Peju Ogunmola is a beloved veteran in the Yoruba Nollywood industry. She was born in Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State in 1966, into a family of performers. Her father was the famous actor Kola Ogunmola, and her brother, the late Yomi Ogunmola, was also a respected actor.
She started acting many years ago and quickly made a name for herself in Yoruba films. Some of the well-known movies she has acted in include Maradona (2003), Mafi Wonmi (2008), Toromade (2009), and Apaadi (2009). She also appeared in more recent films like Omo Ghetto: The Saga, King of Thieves (2022), Beast of Two Worlds (2024), and House of Ga’a (2024).
Peju is married to Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Papi Luwe or Aluwe, who is also a veteran comic actor, director, and filmmaker.
They had one child, a son named Ayomikun Oluwanisola, also called Shina or Oluwasinaayomi. He was a young singer and had just finished his NYSC service, which made his mother very proud.
$adly, on September 2, 2025, news broke that her only child had passed away while she was on a movie set. The Nollywood community has been mourning with her, and many of her colleagues have shared words of comfort and prayers during this very painful time.
