President Tinubu Rewards Super Falcons with $100,000, National Honours, and Apartments

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a monumental reward package for the Super Falcons following their historic triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they claimed their 10th continental title.

Each player from the victorious squad will receive:
✅ $100,000 (approximately ₦150 million) in cash,
✅ a three-bedroom apartment in Abuja, and
✅ a National Honour – Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

The team arrived in Abuja on Monday morning via ValueJet Airline, where they were welcomed by top dignitaries before proceeding to the Presidential Villa for a formal reception.

President Tinubu’s gesture comes after the Falcons staged one of the most remarkable comebacks in WAFCON history. Trailing 2-0 at halftime against Morocco in Saturday’s final, goals from Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and Jennifer Echegini secured a thrilling 3-2 victory and cemented Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football.

Fans and sports enthusiasts nationwide have applauded the President’s generosity, describing it as a strong motivation for the players and a significant boost for women’s sports development in Nigeria.
