A great icon of Nigerian theatre and film has gone home.

Olu Jacobs was a true legend whose remarkable talent, dignity and decades of service left an indelible mark on Nollywood and the Nigerian entertainment industry.

His legacy will continue to live through the many lives he inspired and the countless productions enriched by his extraordinary talent.

May his soul rest peacefully, and may God comfort his wife, Joke Silva, his children, family, colleagues and admirers.

Lẹ́yìn tí wọ́n ti fẹ́ ìyàwó, ìyá wọn pè wọ́n, ó sì sọ fún wọn pé:

“Ẹ̀yin ọmọ mi, ẹ kò gbọ́dọ̀ da ọbe se ayafi kee maa wá gba ọbẹ̀ lọ́dọ̀ mi.”

Àwọn ọmọ náà gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ ìyá wọn, wọ́n sì ń ṣe gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ṣe sọ.

Chief Alabi Ogundepo, tí ó jẹ́ ọmọ Saki, fi ayé sílẹ̀ ní ọjọ́ orí 84 ọdún, ó sì fi ogún ọlọ́rọ̀ ti ọ̀rọ̀, ìwé, àṣà, ọgbọ́n àti iṣẹ́ sílẹ̀ fún ìran tó ń bọ̀.

Ikú rẹ̀ jẹ́ àdánù ńlá fún Saki, Ìpínlẹ̀ Oyo, àti gbogbo ilẹ̀ Yorùbá, pàápàá jùlọ fún àwọn tó nífẹ̀ẹ́ sí èdè, àṣà, ìwé àti lítíréṣọ̀ Yorùbá.
