The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has again arraigned a social media influencer, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, also known as Blessing CEO, for an alleged N69.1 million fraud.

Blessing was arraigned before Justice R.A. Oshodi of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing

It will be recalled that Blessing CEO had been arraigned by the EFCC on 15th May 2026 over an alleged N36 million fraud.

A 30-year-old Sudanese man, Hadi Alodid, has appeared in court in Belfast city for attempted murder.

Alodid, was thereafter remanded in custody for four weeks over threats to kill an NHS radiographer and possession of a knife

According to reports, houses, cars, and a bus were set on fire in Belfast in a violence that followed the knife attack by Alodid with the victim of the attack losing his left eye.

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, says despite reported increases in government revenue under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, Nigerians are facing worsening economic hardship due to rising debt and declining socio-economic indicators.

In a statement today, Obi said instead of a reduction in borrowing alongside the revenue increase, the administration has continued to borrow excessively with Nigeria’s total debt now at about N200 trillion.

Obi further stated that Nigeria has recorded higher-than-budgeted revenue inflows due to global and regional geopolitical tensions.

He therefore called for a detailed and transparent explanation of Nigeria’s economic and financial management since 2023.

Oyo State House of Assembly has proposed major reforms to strengthen the operations of the Oyo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, and improve the implementation of the Open Rearing and Grazing Regulation Law, 2019.

The recommendations followed a comprehensive post-legislative review conducted by an Adhoc Committee set up by the House to assess the effectiveness, challenges and impact of both laws on security and conflict resolution in the state.

Presenting the committee’s report, the House Leader, Hon. Sanjo Onaolapo, explained that the anti-open grazing law has helped to reduce clashes between farmers and herders, protect farmlands and encourage modern livestock management practices.

On the Amotekun Law, the Assembly recommended the establishment of the Independent Amotekun Complaints Committee, improved personnel training, enhanced welfare packages and better operational logistics.



Lawmakers also proposed a minimum death benefit of two-point-five million naira for families of operatives who die in active service, while calling for amendments to strengthen recruitment standards and sustainable funding for the corps.
