Ogori/Magongo LG Boss Empowers Youths, Women with Cash and Clothes
..described Governor Bello's performance as superlative

The Executive Chairman of Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area, Hon. Goke Oparison has described the performance of Governor Yahaya Bello as incredible and superlative.

The LG Boss made the statement during his empowerement program in Ogori/Magongo LG Secretariat, Akpafa where over 1000 indigenes of the Local Government Area benefited.

According to Hon. Goke, Governor Bello through his ideological concepts and courage has restored the lost glory of the state and spreads dividends of democracy to all its nooks and crannies.

Hon. Goke highlighted some of the achievements of the present administration in the areas of security, education, health and infrastructures etc.

According to him, taking into considerations the track records of the Governor, he's optimistic that the APC will win all the seats in Kogi state and Kogi state would be delivered 100 per cent for the presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

He urged APC members in the area to stay committed and remain faithful to the party.

In her remarks, the wife of the Executive Chairman of the LGA, Hon. Patricia Oparison said more programs would be initiated to support the people in the local government area.

According to her, the APC-led government, under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, had, since its inception, been giving priority to empowerment policies and programmes.

The beneficiaries of the cash and clothes empowerment, both male and female, old and young including party executives and delegates in the last primaries of the APC, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Council Boss and the Chairperson, Hon. Patricia Oparison, praying, God continue to strengthen them and direct their daily affairs.

The program was attended by state and local government appointees, traditional and religious leaders, Security Agents, APC Chairman, Hon. Ojo Aturu and other APC stalwarts in the area.

Mass Protest in Ogori/Magongo LGA over the illegal acquisition of Obajana Cements by Dangote.

The people of Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State on Wednesday 12th October, 2022, armed with placards of various inscriptions such as, “The Future of our People Must be Protected", "Kogi State is Safe for Investors, bring your Investments to Kogi State“, "FG must stop Dangote's impunity in Kogi State", "The time to act is Now, Obajana Cement belongs to the people of Kogi state", "Kogi State is Safe under Governor Yahaya Bello's Watch 100%, "Enough of these exploitations, E Don Do U, Mr. Dangote" etc., have thrown support behind the executive Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello and positing that the resolutions of the state House of Assembly was timely and commendable

Speaking with some of the protesters in the Local Government Area, they remarked,

"We will not continue to tolerate the excesses of Mr Dangote in Kogi State, it's time for us to act and this is why we are on the street".

Another protester in the LGA said, "you cannot sell any state government property without the resolutions of the state House of Assembly, it's obvious Mr. Dangote is not getting it right this time".

A protester who described the protest as based on high moral principles said, "it's a collective fight of all kogite and they will not rest on their oars until the issues of ownership, non payment of taxes and revenues due to the state government are completely settled. Peter should not be robbed to pay Paul, he added.

Addressing the crowd, the Chairman of the local government area, Hon. Goke Oparison said the Government of the State has an obligation to respect and give effect to resolutions of the Kogi state House of Assembly in the interest of peace and to avoid anarchy or breakdown of law and order. According to the Chairman, the Specialized Technical Committee on the Evaluation of the Legality of the Alleged Acquisition of Obajana Cement Company Plc by Dangote Cement Company Limited has established that the company was illegally acquired by Mr. Dangote. Hon. Goke called on the Federal government to as a matter of urgency address the issues on ground, positing that he's confident that in the end, justice will prevail as the President is known for Integrity.
