President Muhammadu Buhari has conferred national honours to four hundred and forty-nine Nigerians and friends of Nigeria.

Some of the nominees include the President’s late Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari; Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State; Director General of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Ishaq Oloyede; amongst others.

Speaking during the event, President Buhari said the awardees are an inspiration to Nigeria. He also appealed to those who didn’t receive an award to be patient. The president also assured that
his administration will hand over a country free of insecurities.
