🪨 AKOKO EDO: WHERE THE HILLS HOLD HISTORY 🪨

Long before kingdoms flourished or borders were drawn, Akoko Edo already stood etched into stone, wrapped in legend, and rooted in resilience. This highland region in northern Edo State is more than geography; it’s ancestral memory carved in granite.

🏞️ A Land Shaped by Stone and Story
In Akoko Edo, the hills are more than landscape; they are guardians of time. From Somorika’s towering rocks to the lush plateaus of Ososo, these ancient formations once served as fortresses during tribal wars, hideouts during slave raids, and shrines for sacred rituals. Every boulder has a tale of migration, defiance, and deep spiritual life.

🌍 A Cultural Crossroads
This land tells a story of people on the move. Influences from Benin warriors, Yoruba migrants, Nupe interactions, and native clans have woven a cultural tapestry as complex as it is beautiful. The towns;

💬 Languages That Remember
They speak in tongues shaped by journeys dialects that echo Yoruba cadence, Benin rhythm, and something completely Akoko Edo. These are languages born not just of communication, but of identity, survival, and belonging.

🪘 Festivals That Refuse to Fade
Drums still beat in age-old rhythms. Masquerades dance in honour of deities and ancestors. Ceremonies mark the seasons, the harvest, and the spirits that walk among the people. Time moves forward, but tradition holds its ground.

👑 Kings Rooted in Ancestry
Royalty here isn’t ceremonial; it’s sacred. The Otaru of Igarra, the Olososo of Ososo, and other traditional rulers still sit on thrones whose legacies stretch back centuries. Their authority, though evolving, remains deeply respected and symbolically powerful.

📜 A Living Archive of Survival
Through wars, migrations, colonial disruptions, and modern pressures, the people of Akoko Edo have endured without erasing. They’ve kept their stories alive in proverbs, in craft, in the terrain itself. Their identity isn’t stored in books, it’s etched in mountainside grooves and elder wisdom.

🔺 The Rocks Remember. The People Endure.
Akoko Edo isn’t just a place; it’s a living archive, a stronghold of heritage, and a beacon of cultural pride. In every market square, shrine, or hill path, the past breathes and walks among its people.

This is Akoko Edo, a land like no other, where history isn’t just remembered…
It is lived!

A lawyer sold his well to a teacher. Two days later, the lawyer came to the teacher and said, "Sir, I sold you the well, but it's not with the water inside! If you want to use the water, you will have to pay extra."

The teacher smiled and replied, "Yes, I was about to come to you. I was going to say that you should take your water from my well, or else you will have to start paying rent from tomorrow."

Hearing this, the lawyer got nervous and said, "Oh, I was just joking!"

The teacher laughed and said, "This is how people like you become lawyers after studying with us."

Salute to teachers! 🙏🙏

HOW TO PRESERVE FRESH TOMATO PASTE FOR A YEAR IF YOU HAVE NO ACCESS TO REFRIGERATION Or PRESERVATIVES

Currently, we have no access tofresh tomatoes supply in the market because farmers in the North have not produced it with an irrigation system in the last dry season because of many challenges listed

A time like this will come when the northern supplies are finished and tomatoes will become gold and we will all be shouting.
But sooner than later, the same tomatoes would becone affordable again
When abundance season...here are what you can do to have them stored against the scarcity period .

Follow this method and have your Tomato paste preserve for about 1 year.

Tomato Paste Production

The materials you need to provide
* Fresh Tomatoes

* Glass Bottles with tight lids
( bottles are preferable because of air tights cover that will not allow air to oxygenate the tomatoes)

Steps by steps
1. Grind the fresh tomatoes

2. Put the ground tomatoes in a pot and boil until the water dries out and it becomes solidified (paste)

3. Allow the paste to cool down

4. Scoop the paste into the bottle and sealed with the cap

5. Put the bottle in a pot and fill with water above the bottle beam

6. Put this on fire and boil for 10 - 15 minutes

7. Remove the bottles and keep your paste in a cool place.

8. No need for refrigeration

9. This can last for 6 - 12 months

“No Go Give Wetin Belong to Odogwu To Caesar” — Laho: Edo New Media Crew Makes Heartfelt Appeal to Governor Monday Okpebholo

In the echoes of Laho by Shallipopi featuring Burna Boy, one line keeps ringing across the hearts of Edo’s unsung heroes:

“No go give to Caesar what belongs to Odogwu.”

This isn’t just a verse—it’s a cry from the trenches, a coded anthem from the very foot soldiers who carried the gospel of Governor Monday Okpebholo to the ends of Edo’s digital space during the last gubernatorial elections.

As the head of the APC New Media Directorate during that pivotal election, I stand not in personal interest—I need no appointment—but in defense of a crew that gave everything.

These were the unseen hands that wrote through the nights, that danced through data scarcity, and stood firm even when the odds seemed stacked. They built narratives. Countered propaganda. Gave voice to our vision. These are the Odogwus of the digital battlefield.

And now that Governor Monday Okpebholo has, with God’s grace and the people’s will, risen in triumph and has since set Edo on a fast lane of super performance, our message is not one of entitlement. It’s a message of recognition. Of continuity. Of belonging.

Governor Monday Okpebholo has broken boundaries and defied projections. His infrastructure push, his humane approach to governance, and his readiness to listen have earned him admiration across party lines. And it is with this same spirit we say:

Your New Media Crew is not a noise machine. We are builders. Strategists. Loyalists. Vision bearers. Let no “Ceasar” inherit the reward of the Odogwus who took bullets online so your message could shine bright offline.

We say this respectfully, with full understanding of the complexities of governance. We say this in the tone of humility, but with the urgency of those who know what they gave:

No doubt, your Excellency has been deliberate and strategic in appointments. We only plead for a little room for the voices that roared in silence, the digital generals who took no glory but kept the war room alive.

Let it be said that in the reign of Governor Monday Okpebholo, loyalty was not forgotten. That those who believed in the cause were also remembered when it mattered most.

To the world, we may just be “keyboard warriors.” But to this movement, we were the fuel that made the engine roar.

They fought to protect your turf, sir. Now, we hope their names don’t get left out of the victory roll call.

With utmost humility,
On behalf of the voices behind the screen —

Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah

AKOKO-EDO PEOPLE gather money do commercial farm to reduce gather money give kid~nâpà$

Imagine investing millions into commercial farming by different community indigens... that will open up our interiors, encourage infrastructure such as road and structures in our interior, on the long run you will reduce hide outs and insecurity activities in our interiors. This will further encourage our small scale farmers to feel safe when they go to their small farms around the large commercial farms...
Such farms should be situated on the expanse of land between Igarra , Aiyetoro, Ogugu junction and Ekpesa as well as along Igarra, Sasaro, Ikpeshi , Auchi roads to reduce the Fulani terrorists hide outs. (strategic situation of our investment)
It's a community effort... We have the millions to bail our loved ones, if these Millions are contributed and groups or individuals invest into large scale commercial farming, definitely we will record less lost of finance and lives to crim~inâl activities. And not to forget it will provide food and economic boost in our exchange rate
