EzeeTee was marked for Cancellation the moment he began using his platform to educate gospel musicians on the business side of music, challenging the long-standing narrative that there’s no money in the gospel music industry.
He shifted the mindset of many, showing them that success and profitability in gospel music were achievable.
What initially seemed like a small movement quickly grew into a revolution.
People started buying into his ideas, asking questions, and replicating his system on smaller scales because his results were undeniable.
Tangible success is hard to argue with.
I saw this coming and remember reaching out to him, urging him to tone down this campaign because of his stake, investment, and influence in the industry.
I advised him to let others with less at stake take the lead in driving the conversation.
But I saw a man fully committed to his vision and convictions, unwilling to back down, but one dangerous thing about revolutions, however, is that those who lead them often don’t live to see their full fruits.
Not long after he began, it seems the "Papas" and powers that be became uncomfortable with his influence.
They started pushing back, making moves to cancel him, just as the Pharisees did with Jesus.
These men were most upset because they could no longer manipulate gospel artistes into attending their programmes under the guise of a "father-daughter" relationship, only to dismiss them with a mere "God bless you."
This exploitative system left gospel musicians broke, struggling, and impoverished for years.
The idea of paying millions to book artistes like Mercy Chinwo and others was unfathomable to them.
EzeeTee’s structures disrupted their system and denied them the control they once had.
Removing him became their mission, by any means necessary.
Otherwise, why are spiritual leaders so invested in a record label’s internal issues that could easily be resolved internally or through mediation, as outlined in the contract? Why are they so determined to label and convict him even before the court rules?
Who orchestrated the move that led to Ezekiel being illegally detained for nine days by the EFCC, outside the jurisdiction of the matter?
When the truth is over-pushed, it risks becoming a lie.
The case is already in court, why not let the legal process take its course?
It’s clear this is all scripted, with everyone playing their roles, unfortunately, those being used can't see beyond the smoke screen.
More will likely join the fray, but in the end, we can only hope justice prevails, and everyone learns the necessary lessons from this saga.
