"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

*Breakdown in plain language*
- *“In the beginning”* – Points to a time before anything existed, the very start of everything.
- *“the Word”* (Greek: _Logos_) – Represents Jesus Christ, showing Him as the message, plan, and expression of God.
- *“was with God”* – Indicates a relationship—Jesus co‑existed with the Father.
- *“and the Word was God”* – States that Jesus is fully divine, sharing the same essence as God.

*Why it matters*
