Governor Alex Otti Pays ₦25 Million for Ngozi Nwosu’s Medical Treatment

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has fulfilled his promise to support veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu by paying ₦25 million directly to the hospital where she is currently receiving treatment.

The 62-year-old actress recently appealed to the public for financial assistance after revealing that she is battling an undisclosed health condition. According to her, she requires three surgeries and needs a total of ₦30 million to cover the medical expenses.

The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, J Martins, confirmed the payment in a post on X, stating that Governor Otti instructed that the funds be transferred directly to the hospital’s account.

“Payment made to the hospital. Yesterday before the close of work, His Excellency , our pragmatic leader, fulfilled his promise by directing a ₦25 million payment to the hospital where our Nollywood legendary actress, Mrs. Ngozi Nwosu, is receiving treatment. We thank you immensely for your support and kindness of heart, sir. History will be kind to you.”

Ngozi Nwosu’s appeal for support had attracted widespread attention, especially given her previous criticism of the Abia State Government. In 2024, the actress said she would no longer render free services to the state, citing what she described as a lack of government support.

With the governor’s intervention, a significant portion of the funds needed for her surgeries has now been secured.
