Another Banger 🔥🔥 Dangote Refinery Sacks All Nigerian Workers After Unionization Clash
In a stunning development, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has terminated the employment of all its Nigerian workers, just 24 hours after 90% of them joined PENGASSAN — the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria.
A memo dated September 25, 2025, and signed by Femi Adekunle, Chief General Manager of Human Asset Management, announced that the move was part of a “total re-organisation” of the refinery. The company cited cases of sabotage in different units of the plant as a key factor behind the decision.
The notice directed all affected employees to surrender company property to their line managers and obtain exit clearance, while the finance department was tasked with calculating and processing benefits and entitlements in line with their employment terms.
This dramatic action comes amid an ongoing trade dispute between Dangote Refinery and PENGASSAN over unionization rights, escalating tensions between the company and its workforce.
