NAF NEUTRALISE SCORES OF BANDITS, DISMANTLE THEIR LOGISTICS BASE IN SHIRORO

The Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (AC OPFY) has recorded another significant achievement in its counter-terrorism campaign, neutralising scores of bandits and dismantling their logistics base at Alawa Forest in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

According to a statement by the Director, Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Airforce Headquarters,
AVM Olusola Akinboyewa, the operation conducted on 21 January 2025 was based on credible intelligence and follow-up confirmatory aerial surveillance efforts which indicated an influx of armed terrorists into the forest.

These criminals, he said, "were linked to widespread violence, including two Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attacks on 19 December 2024 in Bassa, Shiroro LGA, which claimed several innocent lives."

The statement continued, "In response, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) launched a three-day sustained air operation, code-named KONAN DAJI, to degrade the terrorists’ capabilities and render the forest unhabitable for them.

"To this end, AC OPFY dispatched a formation of fighter aircraft to execute air interdiction missions in the area. Upon arrival, the jets swiftly engaged the identified targets with precision strikes, neutralising numerous armed fighters and destroying their logistics base, as confirmed by multiple secondary explosions.

"The NAF, in close coordination with ground forces, remains resolute in its commitment to maintaining operational dominance across the region. Sustained efforts are underway to eliminate all criminal elements from Alawa Forest and surrounding areas, ensuring lasting peace and security for communities in Niger State and beyond.

MAKE A DEAL WITH UKRAINE NOW OR ELSE, DONALD TRUMP TELLS PUTIN

Donald Trump stepped up the pressure on Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to make a peace deal with Ukraine Wednesday, threatening tougher economic measures if Moscow does not agree to end the war.

Trump’s warning in a Truth Social post came as the Republican seeks a quick solution to a grinding conflict that he had promised to end before even starting his second term.

“If we don’t make a ‘deal,’ and soon, I have no other choice but to put high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions on anything being sold by Russia to the United States, and various other participating countries,” Trump said.

Trump said he was “not looking to hurt Russia” and had “always had a very good relationship with President Putin,” a leader for whom he has expressed admiration in the past.

“All of that being said, I’m going to do Russia, whose Economy is failing, and President Putin, a very big FAVOR. Settle now, and STOP this ridiculous War! IT’S ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE.”

He added: “Let’s get this war, which never would have started if I were President, over with! We can do it the easy way, or the hard way – and the easy way is always better. It’s time to ‘MAKE A DEAL.'”

'FIRST BUDDY' ELON MUSK GIVEN OFFICE IN WHITE HOUSE COMPLEX.

Musk has been given an office in the White House complex for his department of government efficiency (Doge) in the latest sign of his closeness to Donald Trump.

According to a New York Times report cited by Daily Telegraph, the SpaceX founder has reportedly been assigned space in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which Musk has been given an office in the White House complex for his department of government efficiency (Doge) in the latest sign of his closeness to Donald Trump.

The SpaceX founder has reportedly been assigned space in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which located next to the West Wing, and houses a majority of offices for White House staff.

Also known as EEOB, it is an impressive building that commands a unique position in American national history and architectural heritage.
It was originally built for the State, War, and Navy Departments between 1871 and 1888.

Mr Musk, who is so close to Mr Trump that he has been dubbed the “First Buddy” by Lara Trump, the president-elect’s daughter-in-law, is still said to be in discussions about what level of access he will have to the West Wing and how formal his position will be.

The move risks further alienating the president-elect’s supporters who have become suspicious of Mr Musk, the richest man in the world, who donated $250 million to help Mr Trump win the election.

It also raises further questions about whether or not Mr Musk will have to comply with personal financial disclosures like ordinary employees.

EVANGELIST LEAVES CHURCH OF ENGLAND...SAYS CHURCH HAS ABANDONED TRUE TEACHING ON SEXUALITY

Evangelist Rico Tice has split with the Church of England, saying it has abandoned its Biblical views on s*xuality and he needed to “demonstrate some clear separation” from it.

The Anglican clergyman, who is perhaps best known for co-writing the evangelism course Christianity Explored, said he still considered himself a “cradle-to-grave Anglican”, and found the current situation utterly heartbreaking. However, he said he could not remain while the church’s views about same s*x marriage and repentance clash with his.

The 57-year-old, who has now started attending an International Presbyterian Church near where his sons go to school, said “the church’s onward trajectory toward affirming same-s*x marriage, specifically the new Prayers of Love and Faith” had left him and others with a heavy heart, and he needed to do something about it.

He told Evangelicals Now: “I was one of six evangelical leaders … who wrote to Justin Welby and all the bishops explaining our deep ‘heaviness of heart, soul and mind’ about the Church’s onward trajectory toward affirming same-s*x marriage, specifically the new Prayers of Love and Faith. We called upon the archbishop to resist the influence of cultural values when they are in opposition to those of the Bible, and did this because it was harming our ability to work with orthodox people from other denominations … We received no substantive response from him, and that was a key moment in my decision to leave.”

He said that he had been “naïve” about the Church of England’s current culture, never thinking he would see “such a clear, pervasive denial of the Christian’s need to repent of each and every sin they commit.”

The former senior minister at All Souls, Langham Place, London, was born in Chile and grew up in Uganda and Zaire. He has spoken publicly about his disagreement with the Church of England’s s*xuality teaching before, stepping down from the Archibshop of Canterbury and York’s evangelism task group in 2018. He told the Billy Graham Association that he clashed with the Bishop of Liverpool, who called Tice’s attitude to s*xual sin pharisaic.

Tice said he wanted people to know he’s for them as he speaks. He added: “The Lord will honour those who are found faithful. There is a group of Anglican clergy who struggle with same-s*x attraction, but they know they must be celibate in order to follow Christ. I think it is very important that their story be heard. I direct people every day to their website, LivingOut.org.”

The evangelist retains his Permission to Preach, and can still speak in Church of England churches. Source: PREMIER CHRISTIAN NEWS).
