2027: Tinubu Has Taken Over South, He Needs Little Votes From North – Fayose

Fayose stated this during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, on Friday.

He said that the president has taken over the south, saying he needs little to turn it in the north.

Fayose argued that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will come fourth in the election.

The former governor predicted that the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) will finish third in the 2027 election.

Fayose said, “Tinubu outside the government consummated the APC, took that APC up and defeated the PDP in 2015. Without the opposition in 2023, the same Tinubu defeated everybody. So you think the man does not have a brain even if he does not talk? It’s only if I don’t have what it takes like him, I would have been a strategist.

“The man has taken all over the south; he only needs little to turn it in the the north. Peter Obi will still have a good show. You can’t deny that. I always tell the truth. Obi will have a better show than the PDP. The PDP will come fourth and the ADC will come third. The APC will come first. Obi will come second. Write it down. You don’t have to be fooling people.

“On whether I’m trusted or not, I don’t have to be trusted. That’s their problem. You know the situation of our party today. And it’s in my prayer that the PDP does not come fourth in the coming election.

2027: PDP Zones Presidency To South

Unlike what it did in 2023, when it threw its presidential ticket open, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has zoned its 2027 ticket to the South.

The decision has escalated tensions between the camps of Makinde and Wike. Once close allies, the two men have become bitter political rivals, trading accusations of betrayal and undermining the party.

Wike, a former Governor of Rivers State, had accused Makinde of breaking internal agreements and trying to wreck the PDP from within.

In response, Makinde’s supporters claim Wike is working to weaken the PDP to benefit the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2027 elections.

Your Threat Is A Waste Of Time, I Will Come To Edo Again – Peter Obi

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has declared that he will return to Edo, despite threats by the state governor, Monday Okpebholo.

Obi spoke while responding to questions from journalists in Awka over Okpebholo’s warning that his safety will not be guaranteed if he comes to the state.

He stressed that if he had need to be in Edo State to make a donation, he would not hesitate to go there.

“Threats don’t make any meaning to me. I receive threats everyday. Do you know how many times I have been threatened all over Nigeria? I receive threats everyday actually, the ones you know about was because it was vocal, but I will not be afraid.

“If I have the opportunity to go to Benin and make donations again, trust me, I will. I have always said that we should de-emphasize politics and think more of how to invest in the people. I went to Benin to invest in people because if they have good doctors, good nurses, they will have a better life.

“What the governor should have done is to complement what I was doing in his state instead of threatening me. He should be sincerely grateful.

“I’m in school today to make a donation, I’m going to be in school somewhere in Nigeria tomorrow too. I’m going to be in school on Saturday, I’m going to be in school on Sunday and even on Monday. Forget about the threat, it’s a waste of time,” the ex-presidential candidate said.

Comr Olatunji Writes Nigeria Police, Urges Immediate Return Of Sowore's 'Stolen' Glasses

Peak Newspaper Nigeria Founder and Activist, Comrade Olatunji Babatunde has issued an open letter to the Nigeria Police Force, urging the force to quickly facilitate the return of an AI Ray-Ban Meta Smart Prescription Glasses, which was stolen by a suspected policeman, from outspoken Nigerian activist, Omoyele Sowore by a man who is suspected to be policeman.

The suspected thief, who has now been identified as Aku Victor Chiemere, is alleged to be attached to the Force PPRO, Olumuyiwa Aladejobi.

During a peaceful demonstration on Monday, to seek a better remuneration, bonuses and gratuity scheme for both serving and retired police officers, Aku Victor Chiemere, a suspected Policeman on m***i was captured to have stolen Omoyele Sowore's AI glasses.

In his open letter, which he posted on his Verified page, Comrade Babatunde berated the Force for allegedly aiding criminality and violating the fundamental human rights of Sowore, by masterminding the seizure of his personal property, one used to aid his sight.

However, he urged the Nigeria Police to act professionally and ethically— to return Sowore's glasses with immediate effect.

"While the glasses themselves may seem replaceable, the real issue is that getting a new pair is extremely difficult due to a backlog in orders that can take between 3 to 6 months.

"I’m appealing to the Nigerian Police to identify and hold the individual responsible, and to ensure the glasses are returned.

If this is the only pair he brought back from the United States, how is he expected to read, drive, or move around safely?" He noted.

Obasanjo will account for the $16 billion power project if I'm re-elected - Tinubu

Reports indicate that President Bola Tinubu has previously stated his intention to probe the alleged $16 billion spent on power projects during former President Olusegun Obasanjo's administration if he is re-elected.

This commitment aligns with a long-standing controversy surrounding the significant investment in the power sector between 1999 and 2007, which many Nigerians feel did not translate into a commensurate improvement in electricity supply.

The issue of the $16 billion (or sometimes cited as $13.8 billion) power project expenditure under Obasanjo has been a recurring point of contention in Nigerian politics.

Various bodies, including the House of Representatives and civil society organizations like SERAP, have previously called for investigations into how the funds were utilized, with some reports suggesting a "colossal waste."

While the current Minister of Power, Adedayo Adelabu, has recently stated that approximately $8 billion of the reported sum was actually spent and that many of the National Integrated Power Projects (NIPP) initiated during that period are visible and contributing to the nation's power supply, the controversy surrounding the full $16 billion remains.

It is important to note that President Tinubu is currently serving his first term, and a re-election would be for another four-year term in 2027.

His prospects for re-election are a subject of ongoing political discourse, with some allies asserting his uncontested nomination, while critics point to economic hardships and other challenges as potential hurdles.

2027: Trust Me, I Will Defeat Tinubu - Amaechi

South-South leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has vowed to end President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term ambition in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking to a large crowd of supporters at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Wednesday, Amaechi expressed deep dissatisfaction with the Tinubu-led administration, blaming it for the worsening hardship faced by Nigerians.

“I’m tired of this government. If a rich man is spending N4 million on electricity, only God knows how you—the masses—are surviving,” he said.

“We must stop the writing of results in Rivers. Go and register with ADC and let’s change the system,” he charged.
