BLOOD, CHRISTIAN GENOCIDE, PRESIDENCY AND TRUMP
The problem of Nigeria and Nigerians is that we have refused to honour the sanctity of life, and the sacredness of blood. We are no longer moved by the stories of gruesome deaths and murders, unless and except we are the victims. Thatâs why we conveniently say the things we say.
What is the value of life in Nigeria and to Nigerians? Perhaps N10,000.00 or less.
When death happens on such scales as it has almost become normal, yet we just move on. We have become numb. No flag flying at half mast. No silence to ponder. We just move on.
Young people kill for money.
Politicians kill for power.
Religious clerics kill for fame, power and crowd.
People are killed as an agenda for political gain.
Fulani Herdsmen kill for land.
Unknown gunmen kill their fellow tribesmen to make a point.
Gold diggers and mineral miners destroy whole villages to get unfettered access.
IN THE END, WE ALL ARE VICTIMS.
Yet, in all these is the absence of leadership.
To be sure this, did not begin with President Tinubu, but he is the one at the rudder now. He must take responsibility, and lead. Everything isnât politics. He is president. Itâs not time for politicking. He must be seen to be fair. A lot of people have been speaking about the killings against Christians, but it took Donald Trump to gain their attention at the State House. Thatâs pretty sad and telling.
No, government must do better. Lives are being lost. Christianâs are dying. Communities are being erased. Certain places are targeted. This doesnât look random. He, and of course the governors of those states must take responsibility. They cannot claim they do not have the security apparatus under their control, yet pay spin doctors to spin the stories. By now, The President, and some Governors should be addressing the people in a press conference.
Yes, it may be that foreign agents and machineries are involved as it is the case with many other disturbed regions in Africa, especially where there are certain minerals. Yet, we must act. A sovereign state must with force enforce its sovereignty except certain people are profiting from this.
To the Christian body, and the church, we cannot continue to see blood spilled, and keep raising altars of prayers. AS WE PRAY, WE MUST SEEK JUSTICE. If we allow ourselves to be silenced BY MAMMON AND THE PROMISE OF SOFT POWER, we will fail those we are called to lead. We must seek for justice, and righteousness. That is what exalts a nation. And those of us in the South, must either keep quiet or encourage the church in the North by speaking up for them.
To the Muslim Community, you cannot say Muslims are also being killed when I say Christians are killed. If Muslims are being killed, say it, shout it. And hold the government responsible. You have no right to attack Christians, when they are telling their stories - that Certain Islamist elements are killing them. That is the truth!!! If you feel attacked by that truth, it either means you are part of the plot, or you are not being sincere.
And to those people who say, Donald Trump is coming for our minerals, stop that nonsense. Just Google worldâs largest oil reserves. Search out deposits of minerals in the US. USA doesnât have a money problem, they have a spending problem. And when they say, they will attack you, those in security business know their capabilities, they might not even put a foot on the ground. Ask Iran recently!!!
And when they come up with data, you donât respond to that with propaganda, you put the data of Muslims that have been killed. You come out with what you have been doing to curb that. Thatâs accountability, responsibility and diplomacy.
If it takes, pressure and actions from Donald Trump to get this killings over with. So be it. We cannot continue to pretend things are well. When they are not.
I believe with the right political will, the President Tinubu can solve this matter. He must be firm with the governors, and heads of the security apparatus. The government must sincerely stop suppressing news of massacre like it was recently done in Kwara. It smirks of insincerity.
We must stop feeding political psychopaths, and stop paying people like Reno who speaks nothing but lies. Truth must prevail, before peace can. And He must, for we are soon rescinding to a Banana Republic.
And all lovers of this Nation, must arise and pray, ASKING FOR ONE THING - MERCY. I assure you, with the blood shed in this nation. We shall need an abundance of His mercy to see the time of prosperity.
No saviour is coming for us, no one. Except MERCY FIRST PREVAILS - for blood 𩸠does speak.
In Christ,
Fisayo Adeniyi
