"I met this guy on TikTok about two months before my birthday. We started chatting and everything was flowing well. We later agreed to meet for the first time on my birthday, and he promised he was going to spo!l me.

On my birthday, I reached out to him but he didn’t respond. Few hours later, he told me he was in police custody and had been arrested. He begged me to send him ₦30,000, promising that he would pay me back when we eventually met.

Later that same day, he asked me to come to the hotel where he was staying. The next morning, after he stepped out, he asked what I wanted to eat. When I told him, he asked me to send another ₦5,000, saying his bank account was having issues.

When I got home and told my friend everything, she said I was a f%%l and that the money he asked for was the one he used to pay for the hotel. She advised me to ask for my money back.

The second was because her husband started texting and updating me about his travels. I didn’t send him anywhere, and I wasn’t comfortable being friends with someone’s husband.
