Rebuilding the Broken Walls?

The strategy to sustaining a lifetime of relevance begins with a conscientious attitude towards rehearsing on how past victories and defeats were achieved. It's expedient and quintessential for everyone to get involved in this exuberant renovation. At a point in time when the need to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem heightened, everyone gathered to the work, unanimously. Yet read the statement of those who had witnessed the grandeur of the first tabernacle, But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy: Ezra3:12. There were mixed feelings here. The ancient men wept aloud while some shouted for joy. It's very pertinent to know that those who shouted for joy were oblivion of the first edifice. What I'm saying is, there is a departed glory that needed to be absorbed into the building again.

Nehemiah got the vision in chapter one and made enquiries. He asked for permission and materials to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Note, everyone was set to work because they had willing minds to do it. You cannot be lackadaisical about rebuilding the broken walls and expect a result. Though he faced grievous encounters and challenge from enemies of progress yet continued until the walls were erected. Also, God had to challenge his people to get out of their comfort zones and build him a house. Haggai1:4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?

What will be your response to rebuilding the broken walls? Have you noticed the broken walls at all? Walls of; Evangelism, Revival, Prayer altar, Sincere love for one another, Unity in the fellowship, Obedience and total submission to the will of God, Celebrations of scholars, Scholarship awards, Financial freedom, Welfarism, Respect for leadership. Are these walls still standing? Oh, not so! I hope you know. Our past heroes are crying out loud upon seeing the dilapidations of these highly esteemed walls. And, they are shouting, why not rebuild them! Heaven is saying, rebuild these walls! Our fellowship centres are sick and plagued with grievances and we care not. We all aspire for result without work. We are now building our academic feat on past historical records with no clear cut of present achievements. It's disheartening that our respected and pious members are facing academic impasse. Now, it's conspicuous that there are broken walls everywhere around and within!

Now, how do we go about restructuring these broken walls? Weeping sore in regrets wouldn't help. We need to get up. All hands must be on deck to ensure we watch-over their academic stability. Let us be the pillars that uphold and not caterpillars that destroy. There are magnificent walls of admirations that had been built by our predecessors needing to be rebuilt. And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.Numbers13:30. I stand as Caleb today to assure you that we're well able to take over the broken walls and rebuild them in this session. Let us go up at once with a defined GOAL- Getting Organized And Launching out to rebuilding those broken walls! Yes, we can! Because, I(we) can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me(us). Philippians4:13. We are possessing our possessions of academic excellence, spiritual renewal, love, unity and obedience. We can because with God, we shall do valiantly.
We'll wait on God until every promise and prophecy concerning all aspects of our lives are fulfilled. Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians1:26,27.

Abhor, Never Harbour Foolish Labour

Travelling on a highway, one often encounters a boldly written caution: Speed kills. Some heed the warning; others ignore it and still speed. Cautions are not decorations—they are precautions that demand urgent response.

In the same way, Scripture warns us against foolish labour—toiling outside God’s will, wisdom, and favour.

“The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.”
—Ecclesiastes 10:15

Let us learn from the lives of those who laboured much but lost greatly.

Jacob laboured for fourteen long years to marry Rachel. Yet that labour kept him in prolonged exile, far from his father’s house. His journey was marked by deception, fear, and delay. Labour without divine alignment can extend seasons unnecessarily—what a costly toil.

Rebekah laboured intensely to secure Isaac’s blessing for Jacob. Though the prophecy was sure, her method was flawed. In securing the blessing, she lost the presence of her beloved son.

“Why should I be deprived also of you both in one day?”
—Genesis 27:45
Scripture records no moment where Rebekah ever saw Jacob again. Labour that ignores patience and trust in God often ends in painful loss.

Consider the rich fool. He laboured tirelessly to increase his barns and secure his future, yet forgot eternity.
“But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee.”
—Luke 12:20
What profit is labour when the soul is unprepared?

Belshazzar was a young and promising king, yet he acted foolishly by dishonouring the sacred vessels of God. The handwriting appeared on the wall, but it was already too late.

“In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.”
—Daniel 5:30
Foolish actions can abruptly terminate promising destinies.

Judas Iscariot walked with Jesus, witnessed miracles, and carried divine privilege. Yet he laboured in betrayal. He sold his Master and could not recover from the weight of his choice. His end was tragic.

“Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?”
—Ecclesiastes 7:17

God has not left us without guidance.

“The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.”
—Proverbs 20:27
When we ignore divine illumination, labour becomes exhausting and empty.

Yet Jesus gives a gracious invitation:

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
—Matthew 11:28

Beloved, not all labour is profitable. Abhor foolish labour. Never harbour toil that lacks obedience, wisdom, and God’s approval. True rest, reward, and fulfilment are found only in Christ.

*No Sprints*

People tend to fit in just to feel in. It an aggressive damage to divine logic.
How can you who started well, just because of acceptance, recognition and visibility, you compromise?

In many scenarios, compromise is not only about committing sin. It may come in form of adjusting to sooth some popular opinions.

We are not all called to teach kingdom wealth. Some are here to warn about the damn consequences of amassing too much of it.

Follow your path- don't offend the Father.
Remember, you're most faithful ans profitable when you abide by the tenor of your assignment.
