The Ndubuisi Kanu Park in Alausa has undergone a transformation, marking a new chapter for one of Lagos’ most popular green spaces.

To showcase the park’s renewed look and potential, the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency hosted a private family fun fair, inviting guests to experience its upgraded features and serene atmosphere.

From photo booths and a bird aviary to bowling games and paint-and-sip sessions, visitors enjoyed a mix of creativity and relaxation. The fair also featured music, food stalls, and picnic setups, highlighting how the park can now serve as a versatile venue for social gatherings and outdoor events.

According to LASPARK’s General Manager, Adeotun Popoola, the fun fair was designed as an exhibition to demonstrate how Lagosians can make the most of the revamped park.

She explained that the space can accommodate birthday parties, bridal showers, and even outdoor movie nights.

Access to Ndubuisi Kanu Park will cost ₦1,000, a fee LASPARK previously defended in response to Ikeja Record’s report on JJT Park. The agency said that the charge supports maintenance, cleaning, and security to keep all Lagos parks safe and well-managed.

The park will reopen to the public soon, offering residents a space to unwind and connect with nature.

The Lagos State Government has announced the reopening of the Ogudu-Ifako Bridge following the completion of major repair works.

A section of the bridge was shut down on June 28 to fix 400 metres of expansion joints.

The project was originally expected to last 100 days, but it was completed in 73 days.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Olufemi Daramola, and Commissioner for Transportation, Seun Osiyemi, inspected the project and confirmed the reopening.

The officials said the repairs were crucial to safeguard motorists, as defects on the joints could have weakened the bridge and posed serious risks.

With both the inbound Alapere and Oworoshoki lanes now fully open, residents can finally enjoy smoother movement across the axis, bringing an end to weeks of diversions and traffic delays.

The Lagos State Government has issued Computer village traders an 18-month deadline to relocate to a new permanent site in Katangowa, Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA.

After a stakeholders’ meeting with the traders, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Gbolahan Oki, explained that Computer Village currently sits on land originally meant for residential use, and the relocation is part of efforts to create a more structured and planned market environment.

According to Mr Oki, the government has ensured that the Katangowa site, which spans 15 hectares, has the necessary infrastructure and facilities to ensure a conducive space for the traders.

He also noted that plans for this relocation have been ongoing since 2006 but were delayed due to site completion issues.

What do you think, Lagosians? Is this relocation a welcome development for traders and residents, or will it disrupt the tech hub spirit of Ikeja?

The Lagos Blue Line has ferried over five million passengers since it began operations two years ago, according to the Lagos State Government.

The first phase of the rail line, which runs from Marina to Mile 2, has become a vital transport option for many Lagosians, easing traffic pressure on the busy Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

Despite its limited reach, the milestone shows growing acceptance of rail transport in a city long dominated by buses, cars, and motorcycles.

The construction of the second phase, from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko, is ongoing and is currently expected to be completed in 2027.
