THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has asked students to hold their institutions responsible for their inability to access their admission letters.

JAMB said its advice to students was predicated on a series of complaints by students that it was delaying their call to the mandatory National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, through delay in issuance of their admission letters.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Thursday, ordered a former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Mohammed Dikko (retd.), to within seven days, refund N57m to the Federal Government.

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba, in his judgment, held that the sum, which was used for the renovation of a personal property that belonged to the former Air Chief, should be returned back to the coffers of the Nigerian Air Force.

Obiano was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Thursday, same day he handed over the reins to his successor, Prof. Charles Soludo, as governor of Anambra.

Obiano, who was governor of Anambra for eight years, was picked up by the EFCC operatives as he prepared to board a flight to Houston, in the US state of Texas.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has at last formally reveal his intent to contest the 2023 presidential election. The press gathered that Vice President Osinbajo has notified President Muhammadu Buhari that he has interest in contesting for the presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the build up to the 2023 general elections.

Osinbajo has been consulting widely across the country like any other presidential aspirants. The vice president will have to battle the APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu; former Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi; and others for the APC presidential ticket at the party’s national convention yet to be decided.

The immediate past Senate President, Abubakar Saraki, has said he will officially declare his intention to run for president in 2023 after the Peoples Democratic Party decides which geopolitical zone will get its presidential ticket.

Saraki spoke on Sunday Politics, a Channels TV programme.

The crisis between Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki and his Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike, deepened yesterday.

Obaseki took exception to Wike’s attacks on him and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, saying that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not the personal property of the Rivers governor.
