International Widows Day 2026 Virtual Conference
Theme: Beyond Charity: Sustainable Economic Empowerment for Widows Through Cooperative Finance and Microcredit
As we commemorate International Widows Day 2026, the Almanah Hope Foundation (AHF) is proud to convene a virtual gathering of widow leaders, development practitioners, financial inclusion experts, civil society organizations, and stakeholders committed to advancing economic justice for widows.

A major highlight of the conference will be the official launch of the new Microcredit and Cooperative Initiative, an innovative replicable model designed to provide widows with access to affordable finance, cooperative savings, and investment opportunities that promote sustainable livelihoods and financial independence which is being powered with AWGADI-the Union of African Widows
The conference will also feature insightful discussions on practical pathways for moving beyond charity towards long-term economic empowerment.
