NDLEA Arrests Three Persons With Disabilities Over Alleged Drug Trafficking in Anambra, Kwara
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested three persons with disabilities for alleged involvement in drug trafficking operations in Anambra State and Kwara State.
The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
Babafemi said a 60-year-old suspect, Romanus Nwabara, was apprehended on Wednesday, May 6, at Akpaka Forest in Onitsha following intelligence reports linking him to illicit drug activities.
According to the statement, operatives recovered 250 grams of skunk packaged in retail sachets from the suspect.
He further revealed that another suspect, Amos Kenneth, 25, was arrested during a separate raid in Ogbunike, Anambra State, on Thursday, May 7.
Items allegedly recovered from Kenneth included 160.3 grams of Tramadol, 80 tablets of Diazepam, 38.23 grams of Exol 5, and 176.93 grams of skunk.
In a related development, NDLEA operatives on patrol along Bode Saadu in Kwara State intercepted a commercial vehicle on Friday, May 8, where a passenger identified as Usman Salisu was allegedly found in possession of 6.3 kilograms of skunk concealed in a school bag.
The agency said the arrests were part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and abuse across the country.
