The Ottoman fleet was a formidable force.

Before the battle, ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ ๐—ฆ๐˜. While the ships fought at Lepanto, Rosary confraternities and faithful throughout Europe were praying.

The Christian fleet won.

St. Pius V attributed the victory to ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—•๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฉ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ป ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜†, and he established a feast in thanksgiving โ€” the feast that eventually became ๐—ข๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜†.

There is also an ancient Catholic tradition that the Pope received a supernatural awareness of the victory while the battle was taking place โ€” a story later recorded by the Church.

Why do the Rosary and Divine Mercy fit so beautifully together?

๐Ÿ“ฟ ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜† leads us through the mysteries of Christโ€™s life, death and Resurrection โ€” with Mary accompanying us.

๐Ÿ’™ The Divine Mercy Chaplet turns our hearts directly toward Jesus and His merciful love, especially at 3 PM โ€” the Hour of Mercy.

Different devotions.
Different origins.
But one centre:

Our Lady repeatedly called the Church to pray the Rosary every day.

๐Ÿ’™ In the revelations of St. Faustina, Jesus asked her to spread devotion to His Divine Mercy and taught her the Chaplet.

So this October, why choose only one?

๐ŸŒ…

One helps us walk through Christ's mysteries with Mary.
The other helps us place our trust in Christ's merciful Heart.

Two devotions. One Jesus. One month of deeper prayer.
