Mukecha stool by will be one of four designs will be showing
Mukecha is inspired by traditional mortars of varying sizes used for grinding barley, wheat and other staple crops. Carved from locally available sturdy wood, the heavy mortar and pestle is used to prepare flour through a time consuming, and back breaking process. Typically accompanied by synchronizing singing, the women of the community carry the burden of this work. The Mukecha is decorated with concentric orange rings alluding to the neck rings adorning bronze busts from The Kingdom of .
This specific design was acquired for part of the staging design in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (last slide)
