Hon. Olawale Aganga Williams Rehabilitates Industrial Borehole at Jejelaye Street, Ajangbadi, Okokomaiko, as He Marks Birthday in Grand Style

The residents of Jejelaye Street, Ajangbadi, Okokomaiko, celebrated a major development as Hon. Olawale Aganga Williams spearheaded the rehabilitation of the community’s industrial borehole, bringing much-needed relief to the area. The project, a significant step in addressing water challenges, was officially commissioned during a grand ceremony that coincided with Hon. Williams' birthday celebration.

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed political figures, royal dignitaries, and party chieftains, underscoring the importance of the initiative. Among the distinguished guests were Hon. Commissioning of Agbara Road by Aremo Senator Solomon O. Adeola, Represented by Prince Agunbiade Wasiu (Yayi Agbara)

On the 16th of January, 2025, a remarkable event took place in Agbara, Ogun State, as the newly constructed Agbara Market Road was officially commissioned. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Prince Agunbiade Wasiu, fondly known as "Yayi Agbara," who represented the distinguished Aremo Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), the senator renowned for his impactful representation and dedication to infrastructural development.

✨ The Profile of Rt Hon Mojisola Lasbat Meranda - A Trailblazing Leader in Lagos Politics

Rt Hon Mojisola Lasbat Meranda is the newly sworn-in Speaker of the 10th Lagos State House of Assembly, a role that attests to her rise as a formidable force in Lagos politics. First elected to represent Apapa Constituency-1 in 2015, she has been re-elected twice, in 2019 and 2023, cementing her reputation as a dedicated public servant and advocate for her constituents.

Before her ascension as Speaker, Mrs Meranda served as the Deputy Speaker and Chief Whip of the 9th Assembly, where she demonstrated strong leadership and legislative acumen. Her journey into politics is deeply rooted in her heritage as a Lagos blue blood. Born on August 16, 1980, to the family of the late Chief T. A. Lawal Akapo, the Ojora of Lagos, and Princess M. A. Lawal-Akapo, she hails from prominent royal families, including Ojora, Aromire, Onitana, Oloto, and Oniru. Her father, a former legislator and traditional ruler, and her brother, Oba AbdulWasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, the Oniru of Iru land, have inspired her lifelong commitment to public service.

Mrs Meranda’s educational journey began at St. Charles Nursery and Primary School and Randle Primary School, Surulere. She continued at Lagos Anglican Girls Grammar School and Ansar-Ud-Deen Secondary School, where she distinguished herself as a leader. Her academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Lagos State University in 2013 and ongoing studies at the University of Lagos. Additionally, she holds an advanced certificate in software development, showcasing her versatility and commitment to lifelong learning.

Her career spans both the public and private sectors. She gained valuable experience as a procurement manager in the oil and gas industry with Cirrus Nigeria Limited and later as Head of Operations at Worthline International Services Limited. Her early political career included high-profile roles in Apapa Local Government, such as Senior Special Assistant on Intervention and Intergovernmental Affairs and Supervisory Councillor for Health.

As a legislator, Mrs Meranda has emphasised the importance of refining existing laws to align with modern realities. Rather than focusing solely on new bills, she has advocated for repealing and amending outdated laws to ensure proper enforcement and relevance. Beyond legislative work, her impact is evident in her constituency projects, which include medical outreaches, providing JAMB forms, training automobile mechanics, furnishing schools, constructing water projects, and empowering petty traders and widows.

A staunch advocate for gender equality, she has called for fair representation of women in politics. “We all contested for the same offices,” she has remarked, challenging societal biases against women in leadership. Her political journey, characterised by determination and grassroots connection, inspires women aspiring to leadership roles.

Mrs Meranda’s leadership style reflects her resilience and dedication to service. She firmly believes that power is earned, not given, and her story exemplifies the rewards of perseverance. “Power is not served à la carte,” she often states, highlighting the hard work, networking, and strategic campaigning that have defined her political career.

Ambassadors for Peace and Enlightenment Foundation Hosts Graduation and End-of-Year Celebration

On December 7, 2024, Ijegun Community Field in Lagos came alive as the Ambassadors for Peace and Enlightenment Foundation held a combined graduation ceremony, award presentation, and end-of-year party. Presided over by the foundation's president, Prince Iche Savior, the event attracted community leaders, dignitaries, and residents.

The highlight was the graduation of newly trained peace ambassadors, recognized for completing programs in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and community development. Graduates received certificates and were praised for their dedication to fostering harmony.

Awards were also presented to individuals and groups for their significant contributions to the foundation's vision, including HRH Eze Dr. C.C. Nwokodi Okpoko I, Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun/Ijeododo, for his outstanding support. Prince Savior, in his keynote address, urged collective efforts to sustain peace in diverse communities like Lagos.
According to the vice president ,comrade Ikechukwu Eze, stated that the foundation has being doing great things and has been helping the needy and pray that God will provide for the foundation to do more.

Celebrating Hon. Saka Yussuf Olatunji: A Heart of Service on His Birthday

On the joyous occasion of his birthday, December 4, 2024, Hon. Saka Yusuf Olatunji once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to uplifting his community in Ijanikin, Oto Awori LCDA. The day was marked not only by celebration but also by impactful acts of generosity that resonated deeply with the people.

First was the royal blessing from His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr Momodu Afolabi Ashafa MFR, FNMC, JP. The Aladi Onijankin of Ijanikin land.
Hon. Saka visited Anglican Nursery and Primary School in Ijanikin, where he touched the lives of the young pupils by presenting them with meaningful gifts, such as 100 pieces of School Uniform and over 200 pieces of excises books. His gesture was a reminder of his dedication to education and the future of the younger generation. The excitement and gratitude on the faces of these children reflected the profound impact of Hin Saka's kind-heartedness.

In addition, Hon. Yusuf extended his compassion to the aged and less privileged members of the community by providing financial assistance to over 100 community dwellers. His thoughtful contributions were a testament to his selflessness and his desire to ensure that no one is left behind.

HRM Oba Kazeem Abu Kosoko, the Elekunpa of Ekunpa Kingdom in Ojo, Lagos, was laid to rest on November 23, 2024. The ceremony was marked by a deep sense of loss and reverence as dignitaries, family members, and residents gathered to honor the legacy of a monarch dedicated to the cultural and social development of his kingdom.

Throughout his reign, Oba Kosoko was recognized for his commitment to upholding traditional values and fostering unity within the Ekunpa community. His contributions extended beyond his immediate domain, influencing the broader cultural preservation efforts within Lagos State.
