Production of one of Nigeria’s leading beer brands, Harp Lager beer, has been stopped for over four years, leaving some ardent customers yearning for its return.

“We are appealing to the company to come and help us by either buying the empty crates or replacing them with existing brands like Stout crates.” Jane Ofili, a beer parlour owner in Lagos, echoed concerns about dealing with unused Harp Lager crates.

A reliable source within the organization, speaking on the condition of anonymity, explained that Harp “died a natural death and has been buried for over four years ago because it was not moving market,” losing ground to competing brands.

He explained that during the last factory tour last year at the Harp factory at Ogba, Lagos it was confirmed that there was no longer a Harp production line, rather what was seen as a replacement was the Origin Bitters production line in the factory.

The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has hinted that President Bola Tinubu’s administration may create new ministries from the existing ones.

This was made known by Gbajabiamila on Thursday in Abuja after he submitted the ministerial list to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, at the National Assembly.

Gbajabiamila said, ‘’Mr. President intends to separate portfolios or restructure the ministries in such a way you might be hearing of new ministries that were not standalone ministries before. So the process continues.’’
Gbajabiamila said that the nominees were chosen after undergoing strict personal screening by the President.

He said that a second part comprising 13 names would be sent to the assembly, adding that this was part of the process of having a cabinet for the administration.

PHOTOS: Shettima Represents Tinubu At UN Food System Summit In Rome

Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, is currently in Rome to represent President Bola Tinubu, at the United Nations Food Systems Summit.

Shettima revealed this in a post on his page on Monday.

This is Shettima's first foreign trip since assuming office as vice president and his first official visit to Rome.

The event commenced on Monday, July 24, and is billed to end Wednesday, July 26.

He captioned the post, "Napoleon Bonaparte once said, 'China is a Sleeping Giant. Let her sleep, for when she wakes, she will shake the world'. President Bola Tinubu is poised to redefine the meaning and concept of modern leadership in Nigeria, the Giant of Africa, which had woken up from its slumber and is now poised to move the world.

"'Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it', so said Archimedes, 'and I shall move the world'."
