*From Vision to Action; KWSG Strategizes for Youths Empowerment*

In a bid to secure a brighter future for the younger generation, the State government has intensified its commitment to youths empowerment through a series of strategic programmes and policy implementations, aimed at equipping youths with skills, opportunities, and platforms for meaningful engagement.

The Commissioner for Youths Development, Amb. Ndanusa Usman Shehu, made this submission today while addressing Kwara youths on an Albarka FM programme titled "Ise nlo", sponsored by the State Government.

Amb. Ndanusa stressed that the State government is working assiduously to improve the livelihood of youths.
While highlighting some of the government's initiatives at empowering the youths, the Commissioner praised the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, for his continued support and efforts in empowering youths across the State.

The Commissioner noted some of the government's efforts in the disbursement of financial grants to various community based youth organizations, registered with the Ministry of Youths Development.
He stressed that the financial aid is a reflection of the government’s continued investment in the energy and potentials of youth driven entrepreneurs.

Amb. Ndanusa further reiterated the collaboration of the Ministry with students in the State in entrepreneurship and skills acquisitions, through involvement in vocational training, or innovation challenges where student bodies help mobilize participants from tertiary institutions.

The Commissioner also emphasized that the Ministry has met with various security organizations in the State to foster partnership, noting that Uniformed Voluntary Youth Organizations registered with the Ministry will benefit from such collaborations with the security outfits, through skills acquisition, military-backed vocational training, and job placement initiatives.

Pensioners Urged to visit LGA HQs, register with KWSRRA for fresh gratuity payment

Kwara State Ministry of Finance encourages all pensioners in the State and Local Government to complete their registration with the Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWSRRA).

Apart from fulfilling the obligation to update their data with the government for planning and security purposes, this registration will qualify them for the payment of outstanding gratuities dating back to 2011.

“Apart from the consistent monthly releases, the State and Local Government will soon begin another round of substantal payment of outstanding gratuities from 2011," Dr. Hauwa Nuru, Commissioner for Finance, said in a statement.

"However, it is essential for all pensioners to register with KWSRRA to revalidate their information. They can do this either at the Ilorin office of KWSRRA or in the headquarters of their respective local government areas, all of which have KWSRRA desks."

Dr. Nuru also urged State and Local Government staff who have yet to complete their KWSRRA registration to do so without delay, assuring them of government’s commitment to prompt salary payments.

“We understand the importance of these payments to our pensioners and employees. The ongoing KWSRRA registration exercise is a vital step to sanitise the payroll system, ensure transparency, and improve the accuracy of government data,” she added.

Gov Abdulrazaq directs deployment of free buses to ease movt, urges calm

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has directed the immediate deployment of buses to different parts of the metropolis to ease the movement of commuters.

"The buses are to take people to the most central destinations free of charge. We hope that persons attending the SUBEB job placement interviews would find this helpful, particularly in the metropolis," the statement said.

The Governor also appealed to transporters and members of the public to exercise patience over the new fuel price hike, saying different government stakeholders are reviewing the situation with public good as a top priority.

"The inconveniences are regretted, and we are confident that things will ease as soon as possible," it added.
