Aisha Yesufu clapsback at Wike for mocking her over her inability to secure NDC senatorilal ticket
Activist Aisha Yesufu has clapped back at FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, after he mocked over her inability to emerge as the senatorial candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress NDC for the FCT.
Yesufu had declared her intention to contest the seat on May 6 after joining the NDC from the African Democratic Congress. She however lost the ticket. During her campaign, she had dismissed Wike’s power to emerge winner of the election saying Wike is just appointee and cannot determine the outcome of an election.
While speaking at a luncheon in Port Harcourt on Saturday, May 30, Wike said Yesufu, known for what he described as speaking “grammar,” could not win an “ordinary” NDC primary election in the FCT.
“There’s one woman who said Wike is an appointee of government and that she has no business with appointees. You speak grammar, speak grammar. Ordinary primary of NDC, not APC or PDP, just ordinary NDC, what happened? She didn’t make it.
It’s easy for people to talk. When they enter into those media houses, they begin to churn out data from nowhere. Now, the time for data has come. What happened? ‘Fa fa fa foul. It didn’t work. If e didn’t dey? E didn’t dey.”
Responding via her X handle, Yesufu said Wike should have dared to mention her name. She referred to him as a ‘’boi boi’ who is out serving his fellow man.
