Hajia Fatimoh Toyin Shuaibu Hails Nomination of Ambassador Ahmed Tunji Sulu-Gambari as Ambassador-Designate, Describes Appointment as a Boost to National Diplomacy
Respected community leader and philanthropist, Hajia Fatimoh Toyin Shuaibu, has expressed profound joy over the nomination of Ambassador Ahmed Tunji Sulu-Gambari, PhD, as an Ambassador-designate by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR, describing the development as “a well-considered decision that honours merit, capacity, and years of dedicated service.”
In a detailed congratulatory message released to the press, Hajia Shuaibu—Matron, IEDPU Western Zone—commended the President for identifying Ambassador Sulu-Gambari as a suitable figure for such an important national assignment. She noted that the nominee’s rich background in diplomacy, administration, and public service places him among the most credible personalities to represent Nigeria on the international stage.
According to her, Ambassador Sulu-Gambari has consistently shown exemplary leadership rooted in discipline, intellect, and loyalty to national ideals. She added that his reputation for consensus-building, cultural diplomacy, and problem-solving has earned him respect both within and outside the Ilorin Emirate.
“His nomination did not come as a surprise to those who have followed his steady rise and remarkable contributions over the years. It is indeed a testament to his commitment to the service of our fatherland and the trust reposed in him by the leadership of this great nation,” she said.
Hajia Shuaibu stressed that the appointment is not only a personal victory for Ambassador Sulu-Gambari but also a source of pride for the Ilorin Emirate, the people of Kwara State, and Nigeria as a whole. She noted that his experience, maturity, and diplomatic exposure will further strengthen Nigeria’s global engagements.
As a respected community figure, Hajia Fatimoh Toyin Shuaibu also holds several other positions, including Matron, Kwara Community Policing Initiative; National Matron, Islamic Musicians Association of Nigeria (ISMAN); Asiwaju Adini of the Osun State Chapter of the Al-Fathiu Quareb Society; and Matron, Yoruba Broadcasters Association of Nigeria and the Diaspora. She used the occasion to emphasize the importance of appointing leaders with strong moral foundations and a deep understanding of national aspirations.
She offered prayers for Ambassador Sulu-Gambari, asking Almighty Allah to grant him wisdom, protection, and success in the discharge of his duties, while also praying that his tenure as Ambassador brings honour and development to Nigeria.
