IT'S EXACTLY A MONTH TODAY!
“If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more.” — Surah Ibrāhīm, Qur'an Chapter 14, verse 7.
This beautiful verse reminds us that whenever we show sincere gratitude for the goodness Allah sends our way, we are, in a sense, subscribing ourselves to even more blessings.
With this in mind, I would like to share a short story, and sincerely appreciate a servant of Allah whose kindness touched my heart deeply.
On Friday, the 13th of February, I went to meet him to give a report on the last project we completed at Al-hasbiy Graphics and Printing Hub. As we sat together discussing the work, I noticed something remarkable: the mosque, an ultra-modern edifice he had single-handedly built, was fully solar-powered.
At that moment, I could not help but think about the struggle we had been facing at our office. We rely on two generators that constantly break down, and at the moment, moving to solar power is beyond our financial capacity.
After our conversation, I jokingly said to him,
“Sir, I’m sure your house is fully solar-powered too.”
He smiled and replied that it was indeed so.
Out of curiosity, I asked if I could perhaps take the generator he used before switching to solar. He explained that the generator was still occasionally useful for high-voltage appliances and certain equipment. So we simply continued with the rest of our conversation.
When the meeting ended, we both stepped out of the mosque. As we walked past the mosque’s large soundproof Mikano generator, he suddenly paused and said,
“This is the kind of soundproof generator that is available.”
I was immediately confused and a bit startled. I quickly explained that I did not mean something that big, I was only referring to a medium size regular generator.
Without hesitation, he asked me, “Do you know MegaPillars Electronics?”
“Yes, I do,” I replied.
Then he said something that left me completely speechless:
“Go there. Tell them you are from me, and pick any generator of your choice.”
For a few moments, I could not say a word.
Later, when I arrived at MegaPillars, they did not even question me. One of the staff simply told me to go ahead and choose whichever generator I wanted. After I made my selection, he asked me to call the man.
I called him, and he immediately confirmed to them that they should give me whatever I chose.
At that moment, I was overwhelmed. Words failed me. I kept whispering “Alhamdulillāh” again and again while silently praying for the man who had shown such unexpected generosity.
When I returned to the office later that day, the team was overjoyed. The boys in the office made heartfelt duʿā’ for him because they knew how much difficulty we had been facing with our faulty generators.
Moments like this remind us that Allah places goodness in the hearts of His servants, and through them He eases the burdens of others.
O Allah, You know this man and the desires of his heart. Please answer his prayers, protect him and his household from all harm, bless him with long life in sound health, and reward him abundantly in this world and in the Hereafter. Aameen.
