APC Stalwarts, Religious Leaders, Family and Friends Celebrate Engr. Rotimi Iliasu Sulaiman’s Birthday in Ilorin
It was a gathering of political leaders, religious scholars, family, and friends in Ilorin today as the former Kwara State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Rotimi Iliasu Sulaiman who also holds the traditional titles of Taiyese of Jebba Land and Otunba Tadeese of Oba Land celebrated his birthday in grand style.
The event was marked with prayers and Islamic lectures led by prominent clerics. Sheikh Suleiman Al Qodiri Oloru offered special prayers for the celebrant, while renowned Islamic scholars, Sheikh Al-Imam Soliu Kewugbemi and Sheikh Al-Barizy Salaty, delivered soul-lifting lectures, praising Engr. Iliasu for his selfless service to Moro Local Government and beyond, both in and out of political office.
In his lecture, Sheikh Al-Imam Soliu Kewugbemi used the occasion to call on the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, to ensure that the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is zoned to Kwara North in 2027. He emphasized that Moro Local Government, despite its immense contributions, has never produced a governor in the history of Kwara State, stressing that the time is ripe for equity and inclusion.
The ceremony was graced by notable personalities including the celebrant’s father and former member representing Oloru/Malete/Ipaye State Constituency, Hon. Iliasu Ibrahim; respected businessman from Oloru, Alhaji Yalateef; Hon. Stephen Wole Oke; Secretary of NSE Ilorin Branch, Engr. Kazeem Ahmed; APC ward chairmen, women leaders, and other party faithful from Moro Local Government.
Engr. Iliasu expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who honored him with their presence and prayers. He reassured the people of his continued commitment to the progress and development of Moro Local Government, pledging to always contribute his quota towards the upliftment of the area and Kwara State at large.
The event not only celebrated the life of a dedicated leader but also echoed the voices of many who see Engr. Iliasu as a symbol of service, hope, and political balance in Kwara North.
