30th Coronation Anniversary Tribute to His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, Emir of Ilorin
As our revered father, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, marks 30 glorious years on the throne of his forebears, I join fellow illustrious sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate, the people of Kwara State, and millions of well-wishers across the nation and beyond in celebrating this epochal milestone of grace, wisdom, and enduring leadership.
Three decades ago, destiny placed upon His Royal Highness the sacred trust of leading one of Nigeria's most historic and spiritually grounded emirates. Since ascending the throne in 1995, the Emir has, through divine wisdom and uncommon statesmanship, guided Ilorin with dignity, fairness, and foresight. His reign has brought peace, unity, and unprecedented development to our Emirate — nurturing harmony among diverse peoples and faiths, while preserving the cherished cultural and religious heritage that defines Ilorin.
Under his fatherly watch, Ilorin has remained a sanctuary of scholarship, spirituality, and social cohesion. His unwavering commitment to justice, moderation, and the fear of Allah (SWT) has made him not only a respected traditional ruler but also a moral compass and a bridge-builder at national and global levels. The Emir’s reign has been characterised by peaceful coexistence, progressive leadership, and deep intellectual engagement — hallmarks that have earned him admiration across the Nigerian traditional institution and beyond.
