BREAKING: Police Rescue Ex-Power Minister Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, alive during a late-night rescue operation carried out around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

📌 OPERATION SAVANNAH SHIELD DISMISSES FALSE REPORTS ON TROOPS’ CONDUCT IN CHIKANDA AND YASHIKARA

* The Headquarters, Joint Task Force (North Central), Operation Savannah Shield (OPSS), has dismissed an online report alleging negligence and extortion by troops deployed in Yashikira and Chikanda areas of Kwara State, describing the claims as false, misleading and a misrepresentation of facts.

* The Task Force clarified that there is no troop deployment in Yashikira community as alleged, noting that its personnel are deployed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Chikanda, where they continue to carry out their duties professionally and in line with operational standards.

* OPSS further stated that troops responded promptly to the 25 May 2026 attack on the Emir’s Palace after receiving a distress call at about 1:45 a.m., mobilising immediately from FOB Chikanda, and condemning reports suggesting failure of response as false and malicious.

* The military urged members of the public and media organisations to verify information through credible sources before dissemination, noting that such false narratives undermine ongoing security operations and the morale of personnel in the field.
