The White House of Okuku
One of the most recognizable landmarks in Okuku, Osun State, is this beautiful building popularly known as the White House.
Many residents associate it with the family of former Osun State Governor, Chief Olagunsoye Oyinlola. As I continue documenting the history of Okuku, I'm also speaking with community elders to learn more about when it was built and the stories behind it.
Every building has a story, and every town has a history worth preserving.

I was walking through the route of Ilorin’s oldest market, Oja-Oba, this afternoon when I saw people heading for a traditional program. Men riding horses in full regalia, a ceremonial regiment, titles being conferred — a celebration worthy of history.
What is a cultural event in Ilorin without the horses and this royal attire?
