The Danger of Outrage Without Proof
​This isn't really about VDM. It is about how quickly people even those in high positions of power react to rumors without doing a basic fact check.
​When I heard that "VDM leaked Tinubu’s voice note," the very first thing I did was check VDM’s official social media pages. He hadn't posted anything like that. Because of that, I didn't even bother listening to the audio. It was clearly fake.
​What shocked me was seeing a presidential spokesperson and many regular citizens immediately demanding VDM's arrest. They didn't even stop to check if the rumor was true.
​A Problem That Affects Everything
​This isn't just about politics. This same reckless behavior happens everywhere:
​In Business: Companies destroy their own reputations by making panicked decisions based on false assumptions or emotional reactions to criticism.
​In Marketing: Misinformation spreads like wildfire because people share things before verifying them.
​In Daily Life: People blindly believe every doctored screenshot, misleading headline, and forwarded WhatsApp message.
​Outrage Over Truth
​We now live in an era where anger comes before evidence. Someone makes an accusation, and the public immediately judges and condemns the accused without checking the facts.
​When a spokesperson for the President reacts so confidently to fake news, it is deeply concerning. If the people in power can be fooled this easily by unverified rumors, it makes you wonder how many other major decisions and national policies are being based on lies.
