Latest Update : Abuja Chinese supermarket where Nigerians are not allowed to shop sealed

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has sealed the Abuja-based Chinese supermarket located within the China General Chamber of Commerce in Abuja, following allegations of discriminatory practices against Nigerians.

The FCCPC officials shut the supermarket when they stormed the premises on Monday. The commission’s officials sealed up the place after interrogating Nigerian workers at the supermarket.

This was as facilities workers at the store disclosed that the owner of the supermarket had fled the premises.

The workers mostly Nigerians stated this on Monday when the officials of the Commission stormed the supermarket.

The workers said that the owner of the supermarket, a Chinese lady, Cindy Liu Bei, fled on Monday at 8:26 am with her family as confirmed on the Closed-Circuit Television camera.

The FCCPC officials subsequently shut down the supermarket.
As reported by PUNCH on Sunday that the supermarket had implemented a controversial policy restricting entry solely to Chinese nationals, excluding Nigerians from patronising the establishment.

This policy sparked widespread condemnation across various social media platforms, as Nigerians voiced their concerns over the discriminatory treatment.

But visiting the premises on Monday, the commission officials led by the Director for Surveillance and Investigation, Boladale Adeyinka, said the mission of the commission is in response to the viral video when Nigerians were allegedly being discriminated against and denied access to a supermarket located in Abuja.

Breaking : Mr Ibu’s leg amputated after seven surgeries

One of the legs of Nollywood actor, John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, has been amputated.

Recall that the actor who was critically ill had called for financial support from Nigerians.

However, a statement issued by his family on Monday said that the actor underwent seven successful surgeries, and one of his legs had to be amputated to save his life.
The family also appreciated Nigerians for their support saying they are grateful, adding that “only the good Lord can thank you all enough for every help you’ve rendered”.

The statement added, “As of 1 pm, noon today , Daddy has gone through 7 successful surgeries but to keep him alive and increase his chances of recovery one of his legs had to be amputated.. This development has been hard on us all but we’ve had to accept it as Daddy’s new reality to keep him alive.

Nigeria is still crawling, but we are determined to change the narrative and bring about a transformative government in the country,” Tinubu told the visiting German Chancellor.
The distraction is over. This gives us more time to focus on governance for the people and moving Nigeria forward for economic opportunities and prosperity that will defend democracy.

In our last tete-a-tete, you made a promise that you will be visiting Nigeria and thank you and your delegation for keeping that promise. It is an honor for me to see you here”.

He said the business community in Nigeria is not averse to forging partnership with Germany being one of the largest economy in Europe.

He reminded Scholz that Nigeria was also the largest economy in Africa which is equally blessed with good environment, time of weather and mineral resources.
Our hydrocarbon industry is still fledging environmentally while we are moving towards the transition energy source.

“You are very welcome with your delegation to partner with us in terms of education, power, mineral resources and all the other opportunities. We have gone a long way to bring about security of our people.
We’re fighting terrorism and that is improving. We still need much support in that area. You will have noticed, I don’t need to go about the various problems happening in the Sahel region of Africa. You’ve seen and noticed the coup in Guinea and recently in Niger republic.

Five months into Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s regime and questions have already been raised if he’s the right person to lead the nation in the 2027 general elections.
President Tinubu emerged victorious in the February 25 general elections and since he assumed office on May 29, the economic situation of the country has been in challenging situation given all the factors contributing to stagnant inflation in the country

From the removal of fuel subsidies to the Naira falling to an all-time high of between ₦1,200-1250 against the dollar, it seems quite right to question the present administration as to what their plan is moving forward.

Some are of the opinion that President Tinubu is the right person for the job given his wealth of experience as both a former Governor and senator, also because of his background as an accountant.

Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Josephine Otabor, simply known as Phyna, has asserted that there’s hardly any lady who hasn’t done an abortion.

She claimed that most women have done abortion at least once or twice.

The reality star, who disclosed during her stay in the Big Brother House that she has done an abortion in the past, said some people tried to use her revelation to troll her after the show but she refused to be bullied.
