I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the editor of the Science Journal of Energy Engineering for agreeing to publish this manuscript at no cost. This manuscript addresses the critical issue of freshwater scarcity for irrigating vegetables in Akungba Akoko, Nigeria, a significant concern during the dry season. The research presented proposes a practical solution by developing a straightforward, cost-effective treatment facility designed to remove contaminants from available water sources, making it suitable for irrigation purposes.
The study is particularly important given the increasing pressures on water resources and the need for sustainable agricultural practices. By providing a viable method to enhance water quality, this research aims to support local farmers and improve food security in the region.
