Two Sisters, One Extraordinary Qur’anic Journey 🌍📖🤍

Alhamdulillah! 🥰🤲 The story of these two sisters is a beautiful reminder of what dedication to the Qur’an, education, and sincere effort can achieve.

Hajara Ibrahim Dan’Azumi and her younger sister, Maryam Ibrahim Dan’Azumi, both hail from Gombe State, Nigeria, and were students of Abubakar Siddiq Islamiyya School, Gombe.

In 2023, Hajara proudly represented Nigeria at an international women’s Qur’an competition in Jordan, alongside participants from almost 40 countries. By the grace of Allah, she emerged 1st place. 🥇📖

Among the rewards she received were:

💰 ₦5 million cash
🎓 A scholarship
🏫 ₦5 million for her school
🕋 A Hajj seat from the National Hajj Commission

Three years later, her younger sister Maryam continued the family’s remarkable legacy.

In 2026, Maryam competed at the 46th International Qur’an Competition in Saudi Arabia and emerged as the winner of the women’s Tafsir category, receiving SAR 300,000 (approximately ₦120 million) as her prize. 🥇🇸🇦📖

What makes their achievement even more beautiful is that their excellence extends beyond Qur’anic competitions. They have also pursued their academic education with great dedication.

🎓 Hajara studied Botany and has completed her university education.

🎓 Maryam is currently in her final year studying Education Physics.

Subhanallah! 🤍 This is a powerful example of how the Qur’an and education can beautifully go hand in hand. Their journey shows that with sincerity, discipline, and dedication, Allah can open doors of success beyond our expectations.

May Allah preserve these sisters, increase them in beneficial knowledge, strengthen their relationship with the Qur’an, bless their parents and family, and make their achievements a source of benefit for the Ummah.

Barakallahu feekuma. May Allah continue to raise them through the Qur’an. Ameen. 🤲📖❤️

Hajarah Ibrahim Danazumi

This servant of Allah should be an example for you women, look at how many men are saying they want to marry her — some are joking, while others are even pouring out their hearts saying if they get the chance they will go for her.

Good Men of nowadays don't want a woman who posts her pictures all over social media or a shameless woman dancing on social media.

And still, Men nowadays, even if they didn't go to Islamiyyah [Islamic school], they want to marry a woman who is knowledgeable and religious 🤩.

This should be a lesson to every woman who thinks she has to be indecent on social media before she can trend!!!

Alhamdulillah!
Allāhumma bārik 💪🥰

Absolutely. The three most important things a Muslim should understand before marriage ❣️ are:

🪴 1. Marriage is an Amanah, not just a romantic relationship

Marriage in Islam is a serious responsibility before Allah. It is not simply about finding someone attractive, falling in love, or having a beautiful wedding.

Allah says:

> “And they have taken from you a solemn covenant.”
— Qur’an 4:21

Both husband and wife will be accountable for how they treat each other. You should therefore ask yourself: Am I ready to be responsible, patient, forgiving, supportive, and faithful?

Love may bring two people together, but character, responsibility, mercy, and fear of Allah are what help keep a marriage together.

🪴 2. Choose religion and character—not emotions alone

Before marrying someone, don't only ask, “Do I love this person?” Ask:

Does this person fear Allah?

How do they behave when they are angry?

Are they honest and trustworthy?

How do they treat their parents and other people?

Are they responsible?

Can we communicate and resolve disagreements respectfully?

Will this person help me become closer to Allah?

The Prophet ﷺ said:

> “If there comes to you one whose religion and character you are pleased with, then marry him.”
— Tirmidhi

Attraction matters, compatibility matters, and financial stability matters—but religion and character should not be sacrificed for them.

🪴 3. Understand that marriage requires patience, compromise and preparation

Don't enter marriage thinking, “Once I marry the right person, everything will automatically be perfect.”

Even righteous couples will disagree. There will be financial pressure, different opinions, family issues, tiredness, misunderstandings and difficult seasons.

A successful Muslim marriage requires both spouses to learn:

communication + forgiveness + patience + compromise + financial responsibility + intimacy + family boundaries + Islamic rights and obligations.

Allah says:

> “And live with them in kindness.”
— Qur’an 4:19

So before getting married, learn what Islam actually requires from a husband and wife. Know each other's expectations, discuss important matters honestly, and don't rush blindly into marriage simply because of emotions.

🍁 In short:
Know your responsibility. Choose character and religion. Prepare yourself for the reality of marriage.

A good marriage isn't simply about finding the right person; it is also about becoming the right person for someone else.

Marriage Is Not a Game

May Allah bless every single person with a righteous and loving spouse. 🤲❤️

Basmad’s experience is a beautiful reminder that marriage does not always have to take years of endless courtship. He shared that it took only three months from their first meeting to marriage, and their Nikah itself was completed in just 30 minutes. Alhamdulillah.

Our Nigerian sisters, this is a gentle reminder: if you meet a good man who is serious, responsible, compatible with you, and genuinely wants marriage, don't turn the relationship into an endless waiting game.

Courtship should have a clear destination: Nikah. It should be a period of getting to know each other appropriately, involving families, asking important questions, seeking advice and praying Istikhārah—not years of emotional attachment, unnecessary intimacy and promises without commitment.

Marriage should not be rushed blindly, but neither should it be unnecessarily delayed because of unrealistic expectations, excessive ceremonies, financial competition or the desire for a “perfect” man and a “perfect” wedding.

If the person is suitable, both families are satisfied, and you are reasonably prepared for the responsibilities of marriage, take the relationship seriously and move towards Nikah.

And to our brothers too: don't waste a sister's time. If your intention is marriage, be clear about it and take the necessary steps.

Three months is not a rule for everyone, but seriousness should be. May Allah bless our sisters and brothers with righteous spouses and make our marriages sources of sakīnah, love and barakah. Āmīn. 🤲❤️

Go into relationships with a destination—not just a duration.
