ASEYIN APPOINTED CHAIRMAN, CONFERENCE OF OBAS OF OKE OGUN

The Aseyin of Iseyinland, Oba (Dr.) Sefiu Olawale Oyebola Adeyeri III, has been appointed Chairman of the Conference of Obas of Oke Ogun, following a meeting of traditional rulers from the zone.
The appointment was made during a closed-door meeting held at the palace of the Okere of Saki, Oba (Dr.) Khalid Olabisi, in the early hours of today. Sources present at the meeting confirmed that the decision was reached by consensus among the participating monarchs.
With the appointment, Oba Adeyeri III assumes the role of coordinating the activities and positions of traditional rulers in Oke Ogun, a region comprising several local government areas in northern Oyo State.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the new Chairman acknowledged the confidence reposed in him by his colleagues and stated that he would adopt an inclusive leadership approach. He said the Conference under his leadership would prioritize unity among traditional institutions and seek greater engagement with relevant government authorities on issues affecting the region.
Oba Adeyeri III also referenced the leadership role played by the Okere of Saki in convening the meeting, noting the continuity of leadership within the Conference following the demise of the immediate past Chairman, Oba (Dr.) Ganiyu Adekunle Salau, DVM.
According to him, one of the objectives of the Conference going forward is to ensure that the collective positions of Oke Ogun traditional rulers are articulated clearly at both the state and federal levels, particularly on matters relating to security, development, and social welfare.
He further stated that cooperation among monarchs and support from residents of Oke Ogun would be essential to the effective functioning of the Conference.
