N100,000 Minimum Wage Insufficient, Nigerian Workers Deserve Better — NLC
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has described the proposed N100,000 minimum wage by state governors as inadequate and not reflective of the current economic realities facing Nigerians. According to the labour union, the rising cost of living, inflation, and increasing prices of essential goods and services have significantly reduced workers' purchasing power.
The NLC maintains that Nigerian workers deserve a wage that can guarantee a decent standard of living, arguing that a monthly salary of up to N1 million would better reflect the prevailing economic conditions and adequately meet the needs of workers and their families.
The union therefore calls on the government and relevant stakeholders to prioritize the welfare of workers by approving a more realistic and sustainable minimum wage that aligns with the country's economic challenges.

Femi Gbajabiamila, paid a visit to Ahoro Esinle Community in the Ogbomoso area of Oyo State, following the abduction of teachers and schoolchildren in the community. The visit underscored the Federal Government’s concern, solidarity, and commitment to securing the safe release of the victims while reassuring residents of ongoing efforts by security agencies to address the situation.”

Governor Seyi Makinde this morning handed over 100 operational vehicles equipped with communication gadgets to security agencies in Oyo State including the Police, Operation Burst, DSS, Correctional Service and Oyo Amotekun.

Operational vehicles were also presented to the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA).
