Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man, Amos Daniel, also known as “Gambit,” for allegedly killing his girlfriend inside a hotel room in the Ayobo-Ipaja area of Lagos state, for money ritúàl purposes. 😭

The incident happened on Thursday, July 17, when Daniel, reportedly a known cultist, had checked into the hotel around 5 p.m. with two other men before the lady later joined them in the room.

It was gathered that around 10 p.m., loud and unusual noises were heard coming from their room, prompting concern from other guests and hotel staff.

Speaking with Punch, a hotel guest who identified himself simply as Adio said that he was staying in the room next door and heard disturbing sounds.

“I checked in on Wednesday, but on that fateful evening, I started hearing a strange sound from the room beside mine. I was so curious, and by the time I later stepped out, I noticed that someone else who heard the noise had alerted a security operative, who came and said he had heard the same noise.

“So, he knocked, but no one responded. Then, they decided to use the spare key to open the door, and that was when they found a lady lying in a pool of bl00d,” Adio explained.

Following the discovery, hotel staff raised an alarm, and other occupants of the room had already fled, but a search of the hotel premises led to Daniel’s arrest as he was reportedly trying to escape through the gate.

A hotel employee, who asked not to be named, said Daniel was caught while trying to hide on the premises.

“We noticed two out of the three guests had left before we discovered the body, so we felt the third one could still be around. That was when we began searching the premises and in the process saw him trying to run towards the gate. He was later apprehended,” the staff said.

Daniel, who was reportedly beaten by an angry mob after his arrest, allegedly confessed that he and his friends had planned the murd£r for ritual purposes.
